Was he really an actor or just playing himself? Either way, he was genuinely entertaining in everything I saw him in.

Gene Wilder. When I was a kid, I never really appreciated his performance in The Producers. Now I consider it one of his best. But there's almost nothing I have seen him in where I didn't think he was fantastic.
No, oh man I love Gene Wilder. Blazing Saddles, The Producers, Young Frankenstein, Stir Crazy, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Silver Streak are all classics.
RIP to a master actor and comedian
RIP Willy Wonka one of my fondest memories of my grandparents was sitting watch this Willy Wonka with them.
I was 4.5 years old in the Summer of 1971 when my parents took me and my older sister, wearing our pajamas, to the Bucks County Drive-In to watch Willy Wonka. I don't remember much at the age of 4, but I'll never forget seeing this movie. Wilder was fantastic. RIP
Horrible news. I don't believe there is an afterlife, but if one exists I hope hes cracking jokes wherever it is.
RIP Mr Wilder and thank you.
