Odd to me that she wasn't more remembered. I would say despite her statements of the contrary, she was one of the most beautiful women of the 20th Century, obviously intelligent and thought of highly by everyone she worked with.
To be a women that John Wayne considered as one of his best friends is impressive. It says a lot for a guy's guy to respect a women to this degree. That demonstrates her ability to be a quality character person in extreme situations.
My Dad considered her a 'dream lady' and having seen a few of her movies I see why.
