Oh wow. He was one of the children not killed in that tragic accident. I was an intern for my local Congressman in 1973, the summer of the Watergate hearings. A lot to remember about that time, but what sticks in my mind was Biden running before he turned 30 and being the youngest Senator elected and then his wife and some of his children died in the car accident before his Senate term stated. I felt so sad for him that I've always had a soft spot in my heart for him to have dealt with such tragedy, particularly at a time he should have experienced nothing but triumph.
