Michael Graves, 80 year old designer\architect in Princeton. Graves was a Harvard educated architect who helped form the post-modern school of architecture but was also willing to design "the small things" too and is therefore maybe best known for two of his teakettle designs -- the kettle with blackbird design and one that became known as the Hitler teakettle. But where he connected with me was in his use of color, some whimmsy and design elements in his architecture after having spent some time at one of his noted projects -- the Hyatt Regency in Fukuoka, Japan.
After being paralyzed by an infection a decade ago he also started to design products for the handicapped and disabled, including rehab facilities for wounded vets.
