I share your analysis. Disappointed not to have traded up in 3rd round and picked a third plus draftee. Too many late round picks. They don't have that many openings and will just lose some off of practice squad.

I was trying to explain it to my wife, who is only a moderate football fan and a Steelers Fan. She is baffled anyone would actually consider Aaron Rodgers over someone, but apparently Sanders set a new standard in how not to act in interviews. I am impressed.

I can only guess that Deion and his son targeted a specific team or two and poisoned every other interview. I guess that is a way to get around the draft, but it is rather pricy and of course makes your value as a player almost nill. It is either brilliant or insanely stupid, I am going to root for the latter.

To be fair to Sanders, he is tough, takes hits and makes throws, he is accurate, throws guys open, is excellent timing-up short and intermediate routes, and has some escapability. He’s not a great long thrower, and in 2024 held the ball too long trying to make hero plays. If he weren’t a knucklehead with a poisonous Dad, I’d be rooting for the Eagles to take him and flip him in a year or two for a high pick.

As I understand it, Deion Sanders said that he was going to dictate where his son went and it did not matter where he got drafted. Paraphrasing, he said they don’t need the money and They’re willing to sit out so he has to go to the right team. He is not a sure thing, he makes selfish decisions on the field, and you have to wonder is he coachable? On top of that, Deion Sanders has said that he wants to coach his son in the NFL, What NFL team wants that negative attention? I would not like the Eagles to take him because he might hold out all year, and he and his dad could be disruptive to the positive culture the Eagles have established.

In recent years, the Eagles have drafted some okay players in the fourth round:

2018 - Avonte Maddoux - 125
2018 - Josh Sweat - 130
2020 - Jack Driscoll - 145
2023 - Kelee Ringo - 105
2024 - Wil Shipley - 127

The Eagles have picks 111 and 130. I'm hoping for Joshua Farmer, Billy Bowman, or Marcus Mbow.

I still like Texas TE Helm, Louisville CB Riley, Purdue G Mbow, UTSA CB Frazier, Nebraska DT Robinson, Ole Miss Edge Ivey, ND LB Kiser, and a couple of RBs and developmental OTs in round 4 for the Eagles. It’s interesting that Howie is concentrating his picks in rounds 4 and 5... Most pundits saw the strength in this draft in rounds 2 and 3. (The running backs I like best are Blue, Martinez, Tuten, and Skattebo.)

One thing I am certain of, Roseman will make more trades. He may turn all this into 2028 3rd rounders or he may have some guys on current rosters that he wants. Or….or….or..

It seems like a lot of teams just don't want the attention that would come with having him as a QB2, who is often the most popular guy on the roster of a struggling team e ven when he's not a brand name. But he is surely going to get taken today. And I can't imagine he would really hold out. That's not going to get his Dad a job in the NFL either.

I wonder what their board looked like when they traded back. If they liked a few defensive tackles and did not have a strong preference then this trade back seems to have worked out. Or if they were looking at a couple other guys and they got snagged. I always wonder how that plays out.

RAS is 9.83. These are the types of guys to draft on day 3.

The Eagles have gotten really good at this drafting thing in the past 5 years. They have hit in almost every day 1 & 2 pick, while picking up some valuable guys on day 3. Incredible efficiency.

Take a look a 2021 on. Something changed in their philosophy and they got dialed in. Resulting in where they are now as an organization. Doesn't look like it's ending soon.

So do I. Roseman made a strange comment about trading back permitting them to reorganize their board overnight. That didn't seem to reflect what I perceive as the normal level of Howie's advance planning.

Some of the comments on here just scream "I've been an Eagles fan since the 70s."

Relax guys, and enjoy the era. We've won two SBs in the past decade and lost another on a weak as$ call. We just dominated the last one in a fashion not seen in 30 years.

We've got a smart guy running things and general seem to have great coordinators and position coaches in place (tough to be 100% on that because those guys leave so often due to opportunity, but the Eagles seem to cut bait quickly when they get the rare dud). They get athletes on their roster and have the guys to coach them up which is a winning combo.

Happy days are here and they're not leaving soon despite all of our innate pessimism as Eagles fans. That pessimism is much better pointed to other franchises in our city
