TE Gunner Helm, whom the Eagles supposedly liked is still available and might be the last TE worth a damn left, but they still need DT too. I’m all for keeping Goedert and not creating the need for a TE from this years draft, and focusing on replacing all the defensive players lost.

Why not Alexander instead of Mukuba? That's who I wanted.

There's a reason why about 12 DTs were picked ahead of him (at least, I'm not going to count).

When guys slide and other guys at the same position are getting drafted ahead of them, there's a reason. It's because the media evaluators got it wrong. Alexander is 25yo, played at Toledo and didn't put up great tape despite playing there. Happy that the Giants drafted him instead of us.

At this point, they might be better off rolling the dice later on. Helm doesn't have a high ceiling, are we sure that he won't just end up filling the blocking TE role? He's not a replacement for Goedert for sure.

Just wait a couple rounds and draft the ND TE rather than spending a 3rd round pick on Helm.

This doesn't matter. He's only the best safety because the eagles traded the best safety for a stopgap OL (albeit likely a good one). Blankenship has always been good enough to tackle someone that no one else did.

A healthy Sydney Brown was likely better.

In what world is Sydney Brown better than Blankenship. No, just no. More athletic, yes, but no where near as productive.

Blankenship is a decent safety, despite what many of you think. Maybe more than decent. Yeah, maybe he gets exposed once in a while if a team schemes a good WR against him, but Fangio is good at making that hard to do. And Sydney Brown would get tuned up twice as much as him in those situations. He can't cover.

Interesting that it seems that the Eagles had a trade in place with the Chargers to jump up and grab Campbell. This would likely have cost them the 2nd or at least the 3rd plus.

The trade falls through when the Broncos passed on Hampton, who everyone expected them to pick. The Chargers then didn't want the deal with Hampton available to them (he wasn't sliding to 32).

The Eagles can thank the Broncos for saving them some serious draft capital.

Blankenship can have 200 tackles and it wouldn't change my opinion. He's been behind an elite DL his entire career.

Last year I thought they targeted Slay as much as they did Blankenship. And CJGJ was weak in coverage. Probably weaker on a consistent basis than Blankenship. CJGJ is a big play guy but guys were burning him in a regular basis.

Well, after a terrific 2024 draft, the Eagles get a terrific pick in the first round, an okay pick in the second, and trade down for what's likely MEH in the fourth round—disappointing.
