Yup, that run could have easily come much later. But like I posted, not much separating 2nd and 3rd round guys in this draft.

Interesting that it seems that the Eagles had a trade in place with the Chargers to jump up and grab Campbell. This would likely have cost them the 2nd or at least the 3rd plus.

The trade falls through when the Broncos passed on Hampton, who everyone expected them to pick. The Chargers then didn't want the deal with Hampton available to them (he wasn't sliding to 32).

The Eagles can thank the Broncos for saving them some serious draft capital.

This seems all true, but if the eagles had him as a ~10 pick, then the trade would have been fine.

I was in a discussion this week about NIL and how these guys don’t care about education. This kid used his NIL money to buy his Mother a Van that was handicap accessible, so yea, this kid is obviously the exception. Hope he does well for my Second Favotite Team.

Eagles draft Texas S Andrew Mukuba with the No. 64 overall pick in the second round of the NFL draft. I don't like this pick.

He was Kiper's favorite (of the safeties). Went 70th in his mock. I think it will be a good pick even if they could have gotten him later.

One analyst had him at #3, one at #5 that I have seen. Here we are in the 3rd round and teams are still fun shy, even ones that desperately need anyone at QB

I drafted him in over 50% of my drafts so obviously I like him.

He ticks every single box for a safety except he is 185 lbs. I thought he would be the best fit for the Eagles to pair with Blankenship.

Maybe Winston could end up better, but his injury this year caused a lot of questions.

I'm no scout (and I'm a UT person) but it seems like he will fit with Fangio (and we have to assume Fangio has been consulted on all these defensive picks).

Yes. Every draft he was available at 64 I picked him. Half the time he was gone.

To me he is the kind of guy you pair with Blankenship. Blankenships matchup skills are weak, and this guy is a guy who can cover. Sydney Brown can't he's like Blankenship, just more athletic but worse instincts.

This guy will have to prove he can hold up to be a 3 down player, but he can hit and tackle. That is a requirement for Fangio DBs. The other safeties on the board, you worry about their tackling. Except Winston, I think he could be great, but the injury is scary and Mukuba will be more ready to go than him.

I'm not the biggest Blankenship fan, but Mukuba plays much bigger than his size and has a nose for the ball. Seems like a perfectly fine pick if not a good one.

I suspect Blankenship’s starting spot is in some danger, if not in the short term, certainly by next offseason. But honestly, he should have a roster spot, the kid has a real nose for the ball and would probably convert to a very good ST player and backup S.

Blankenship is currently the best safety on the team by far, pending Mukuba.

This doesn't matter. He's only the best safety because the eagles traded the best safety for a stopgap OL (albeit likely a good one). Blankenship has always been good enough to tackle someone that no one else did.

A healthy Sydney Brown was likely better.
