Eagles 2024-2025 Season

The NFL announced its 2025 Pro Bowl rosters Thursday, and the Philadelphia Eagles have six players who made the NFC team.

Running back Saquon Barkley, outside guard Landon Dickerson, linebacker Zack Baun , tackle Lane Johnson, defensive tackle Jalen Carter and center Cam Jurgens each made the cut for the Eagles.

It won't be fun for anyone to win this argument if Hurts has health issues the rest of the season or the rest of his career/life. Right now we don't even know if he can start the first playoff game... and Pickett can't start this weekend it seems. Not quite at that level of worry yet, but Shipley is moving through the protocol (limited participant) and Hurts is not (non-participant).

And it will be a real drag if they play in it.

I wonder why they even bother playing the Pro Bowl. Seriously, what's the point? The selected players don't even get a trip to Hawaii anymore. Just give out the honor of being an All-Pro.

Yep. Not so interesting for fans, I watched it once, but a trip to Hawaii and it looked like fun for the players.

Mailata falls victim to “we can’t have both tackles from the same team” even though PFF has him as the best tackle in the league (as of last week). Johnson is 2nd.

I think unfortunately it was more "we cannot leave Johnson off due to his career HOF track" so we'll leave Mailata off instead

Mailata and AJ should have made the team. Both missed games, which some voters may have held against them.

What an offensive line!--4 deserved pro-bowl selection, and Becton was a dominant run blocker much of the time. Arguably, AJ and DeVonta were pro-bowl level or very close. Barkley is clearly a pro-bowler. 8 of the 11 offensive starters!!

I hope the eagles are planning on pulling McKee at halftime and just go with wildcat for the second half - he’s too good to risk in this game!

McKee looks like he has the potential to be better than Hurts, minus the speed.

Very exciting end to both Washington and GB games. Under 10 seconds in both, GB and Dallas leading, which would have meant Washington playing Philly in first round. Last plays in each game Chicago kicks FG and Washington scores TD and Philly will host GB.

GB lost a WR and their QB in this game - not sure of their status

Not sure about the WR, but Love is ready for the Eagles game.

Just mentioned on post-game, Eagles have not won a home wild card playoff game since 2006 (road wins in '08 and '18, six home losses, two years with a bye).

If you want a silver lining to that negative stat, In previous years their seed may have meant they couldn’t lose a wild card game

A lot of good news from this game: Tanner will be a cheap back-up QB next season, Johan is a legit #3 WR for playoffs, we have our TE back, and a lot of our backups looked quite good against Giants first team. Downsides: Elliott still not right, our backup center can't snap accurately enough for shotgun plays to operate smoothly.

Just an odd bit of trivia is all. But like I said there were only two seasons in which they didn't play a wild card game. Otherwise 2-0 on the road, 0-6 at home, any others besides those 10 years, no playoffs at all.

Packers seemed like the scarier draw but they have their own issues.

all good. What i was trying to say is that being the number two seed would have been a bye in previous seasons - so this is as good as they’ve been in a wild card weekend.

Commanders are far scarier. For this team to lose at home they would have to get a lot of bad luck/bad breaks, and Daniels, who plays well outside of the play design, is more likely to pose them a problem than Love. Still can lose on bad breaks, though...

The only bad result today is the Giants preserved their fairly early draft position instead of sliding further.
