Tua has had so many concussions and I believe he was knocked out cold on the last one.

Agreed but if he's been cleared for aerobic activity you'd think word of that might trickle out. And going from step 3 all the way to step 5 (after which he'd have to be cleared) might be a lot to expect in three days (and he still wouldn't have actually had a full practice until step 5).

The Eagles most likely wild card opponents are the Packers.
You'd have to assume the Lions or Vikings take care of the Bucs/Falcons and the Rams have enough to beat the Commanders.
That means the Eagles divisional round opponents should they get there would be the Lions/Vikings.
Win that game and they face the Vikings/Lions on the road.
That is a gauntlet.

I think home field is based on seed not record, so we want the NFC North loser to beat the winner in the playoffs. I'd say there's a good chance of that.

They could only play each other in the divisional round if the 6 or 7 seed wins though right?
I guess it's feasible that the Commanders beat the Rams.

I'm only thinking about the NFC championship, the Eagles will have home field for the other two games regardless.

If current seeds held, #2 Eagles face #7 Packers, then winner of Rams-Commanders.

1 Minnesota off in week 1, then plays winner of #5 Detroit-#4 Tampa.

So we want Detroit or Tampa to win in Week 2 (or Minnesota or Tampa if the NFC North flip-flops next weekend, which it might given Detroit is at home).

And sure, if Commanders beat Rams Eagles wouold play Detroit or Tampa at home but then they are still travelling for the NFC title game unless it's actually against Washington.

It was the right decision. As far as I'm concerned he very easily could have broken it and while he won't go down as the official record holder, as far as I'm concerned, he broke it. This also means that he got over 2000 yards in 16 games and about 30 less snaps than Dickerson. An absolutely fantastic year! Now let's get everyone healthy for the first round!

Well by that logic (and Dickerson's logic!) OJ is still the record holder, he got 2,003 yards in 14 games with 6 ypc (Saqon 5.8. Dickerson just 5.6).

About the QBs: play McKee -- easy decision. Hurts still in concussion protocol is a very big issue. A prolonged protocol period suggests increased fragility in the playoffs and through his career.

Hurts has adopted Carson Wentz's superman approach to QB runs, seemingly feeling indestructible. He was injured this time because he didn't slide at the end of his run, diving forward too close to 2 defenders.

Wentz dove head first into two defenders and Hurts dove to give himself up, but was hit from behind.

This is the story we are going with? The only reason it wasn't a helmet to helmet hit is because Hurts was deemed a runner.

Blame is the wrong word, but QB's in this league need to learn to slide and to time thieir slide so they don't get drilled. Hurts is usually pretty good at that, maybe this helps him on the few plays each game where he could slide but doesn't. I hope the long recovery time doesn't imply he's going to be at risk in the future...this didn't seem like a particularly bad concussion at the time--Hurts was lobbying to come back in IIRC.

Hurts is actually very good at it. He runs out of bounds and avoids contact a lot. Somehow there is a new narrative that this is his fault.

Lego, you are overreacting to the narrative here I think. Maybe the WIP crowd is upset, but no one blames Hurts here. Hurts is pretty good at minimizing hard contact for a QB that runs as much as he does. On th play he got hurt he probably should have slid, and the guy who hit him in the helmet should have been flagged. As Hurts gets older, let's hope he gets even better at protecting himself. That doesn't mean, of course, that he shouldn't run.
