They still need to win the NFC East. They're all gonna play. Even Jalen if he's cleared (and if he's not and they don't need to beat the Giants he still probably plays a quarter to get snaps).
Being the top seed and not having to play a game of any kind still would have been better than half-assing/tanking/resting starters. Playing a first-round game always means it was more possible there would be an injury or injuries and playing a tough first-round game (whether because you tanked or because of the current reality) also increases that. What happened today will or would be even worse if it happens then. Whereas, 0 percent chance of injury on January 11 or 12 for the 1 seed.
Hopefully Jalen is okay enough to just miss a little time which also makes it easy - they'll win one of the next two games with or without him (and hopefully don't need to beat the Giants).
