The Eagles did a pick swap with the Steelers and also received QB Kenny Pickett, so there's your backup QB.

The details are the Eagles traded their 3rd round pick (98), plus two 2025 7th round picks for Pickett and the Steelers 4th round pick (120).

I think TE is probably still a need also.

We really need another LB that can actually play. Dean is still an unknown, White very well could not be a solid player anymore, we have to hedge those bets with a 3rd “Starter”

Honestly I think they may be set at CB. There just isn’t much roster flexibility to add another and we don’t want to lose any of our young CB’s (maybe Jobe could be snuck through to the PS??)

Well, good question there. But since he is under contract, he has very limited options. If his agent can find a good home for him that will trade for him and sign him to a longer contract, that is his only good play. Otherwise, he comes back hat in hand. And he is then either in a contract year or agrees to more term but not at his number.

Well, we don't know that yet I guess. It's not really clear to me what Sweat actually got out of this new deal, more guaranteed money if he's hurt or released I guess? Which doesn't seem like much. Plus easily reached (I assume) incentives but that also seems like money he would have gotten on the previous deal so long as he'd played.

Even if he's not always right, Howie usually gets what he wants in these situations.

I don't think so. He signed a contract. Now he isn't happy. Eagles justified not to give him more. He is a great pass rusher but a total flop dropping into coverage, which has to reduce his value. He has two choices: play out his contract or bring a reasonable trade offer from another team.

Seems like Reddick trade is getting closer. Eagles pushed his roster bonus to April 1. Lots of team names out there in the rumor mill.

I guess we will learn to like it, but it all just sounds very overly structured. I actually think I would rather just keep it the same and do the 4th and 15 for onside kicks. This actually makes Onside Kicks from very unlikely to virtually impossible since you can no longer have one that is not absolutely known to the other team.

I realize they tested this, maybe it will be good, but it seems like a huge change and I suspect some team will find a way to abuse some portion of it (good that Belichick is not in the league)
