Living up here in NE, a great early holiday gift would be a resounding win over the Pats and a strong start to the season. Say 7-1 out of the gate with the loss potentially to the Jets on the road.

The second half of the schedule is tougher, but the NFC East and #1 seed are attainable if we get off to the start we need and can get wins over SF at home and Seattle on the road. I see us at 4-2 in the division with our usual splits with Dallas and WSH while continuing to dominate the Giants.

I think we beat the Jets. Ancient legends playing for a new team can flop badly. Eagles DL will pressure, is the Jets' OL up to the task of protecting a not-very-mobile QB.

There is a real danger of a suspended game tomorrow with all the thunderstorms predicted for the Boston area. Hopefully they are able to finish it, although I think there will be at least one suspension of lightning/thunder. I wonder how that affects the intensity, etc.

The lack of competent LB's is killing the Eagles. The Pats are just tossing 3-5 yard passes over and over and cutting off the pass rush

Best part of the defense was that very few missed tackles. Blankenship continues to be a miracle find.

Geez, I only hated that call for the injury risk to Hurts and instead it might swing the game.

Yea, that draw was ugly, he got popped.

Siposs, Elliot and Blankenship played well. Anyone else? Maybe Smith and Brown. Fletch had a 2 play stop that really helped in the 4th quarter. Obviously Slay had a return for a TD early and Jordan Davis seemed to be around the ball a lot.

It really stood out how Cunningham can't cover anyone on a pass. Nakobe Dean seemed to play well until he was hurt. Jalen Carter had some pressure and a sack. The middle of the DL seemed to absolutely stop the running game.

The offense was almost completely lost after the 1st Quarter. Goeddert didn't even have a target, although Hurts missed him a couple times. Swift only had 1 carry and Penny didn't play. Gainwell went down on first contact almost every time. Hurts seemed to miss some open players, but his throws were good for the most part, really no near picks.

Oddity, with one game remaining home teams are 5-10 (5 wins, 10 losses) in the first week.

Nakobe Dean is out for multiple weeks with a foot injury, eagles have signed former titans LB Rashann Evans to the practice squad. Dean does not need surgery, i wonder if they will add Dean to short term IR and call up their punter so that Evans can be a practice squad call up.

Obviously way too early to panic, but I think it might already be clear that we missed with the LB position. Dean is good, but he is literally the only LB that should be on the field for a pass play. Cunningham is completely useless unless it is a run play.

Either go with a constant 5 man secondary, and dime on pass plays or go find a LB. Is it too early to call Houston and/or Arizona and see what they want for a LB (just guessing they are already selling)

I can't tell you how amused I am by the Jets.

They spent all this money and Rodgers hand picked the players he would play with him. He did not however do much to improve the OL.

Rodgers was hit on every single pass play (3). The Jets are not contenders, not because they are now missing a (now) average QB, but because they let a 39 year old with no experience act as their GM and he assembled a team with a terrible OL. I couldn't be happier as I genuinely hate all NY teams, particularly the "arrogant without cause" ones like the Jets.

Hopefully Rodgers comes back for another season. I predict 4-13.

Next man up....Blankenship, Gainwell, and Bradberry are all out for the Thursday night game (in addition to Dean). Fletcher Cox is questionable.

This is looking very much like a trap game. With no LB and no Safeties we are going to watch Cousins throw short pass after short pass and someone will mistakenly blame the DL for not putting pressure on him. Our extremely talented DL is going to be wasted when we can't cover.

No Gainwell either. This really is an ugly pre-game against an inferior team.

Not a trap game. They should know that they had a ton of problems in game 1 and that Sunday to Thursday is tough. They must know that they need to bear down for this game and improve on some of the bad play from game 1. The injuries are a further problem. If losing Gainwell is a big problem then they've messed up the RB room. The loss of Dean is a serious hit.

Philly area, it is being shown on Channel 29. I'm sure that Hockeson is licking his chops for tonight's game. who knows what he will end up with. As long as the eagles can win, that is fine. if not, well on to the 10 day rest period with some questions that will have to be answered.
