Leonard is going to decide this weekend to sign with either the Eagles or Cowboys, but that's too late for the game this Sunday versus the 49ers, so that leaves the Eagles with just Morrow and Ellis for the game and if they call up VanSumeran, they'll probably have to waive him if they do sign Leonard. If that's the way it plays out, I hope VanSumeren would clear waivers and land back on the practice squad. If that happens I wonder if it resets his practice squad elevation total?

Not sure how to read this game. sometimes big games reverse themselves from a previous game. Purdy was hurt and knocked out last year. Does Hurts get injured in this game? a lot of complaints that the eagles hardly had any penalties last week and Buffalo had a ton. Does the NFL rectify that this weekend? Eagles injuries are crucial. Lane won't be a full strength ( if he plays). Linbackers, as X says, are really lean. 49ers have revenge on their minds. in my mind, if they get by this game with a win, I'm tempted to think that they will go all the way. I don't want to harp on that, because I still can't believe the Phils didn't go all the way. I'm saying a convincing win by either team. not sure by whom though. Go Birds. Use Julio Jones and run the ball!

The Cardinals waived Zach Ertz. It seems like a perfect fit given Goedderts injury if he could clear waivers.

Even if Goedert is healthy we could use Ertz, even the lesser version of himself that he now is. We don’t have a backup TE that is even an afterthought running a pass pattern.

Stoll is really a lineman, Calcatarra is a very limited threat and “O” is a project that could be passed through to the Practice Squad if need be.

Yeah, I would bring back Ertz and drop Albert O, can probably get him to the practice squad if they like him that much, but Goedert and Ertz and I say Goedert and Ertz because Ertz would not be the # 1 when Goedert gets back and you would need to let Goedert and Ertz both know that and make sure both are cool with that because when Ertz left town, the roles were reversed.

Just saw the clip of David Akers trolling the Cowboy Fans at the draft. I guess I had forgotten that it was Dallas Goedert that they announced. Too funny.

This is correct, I think. If you live in Seattle and had plans to take your kids to see the game on Sunday at 1pm (Pacific) you can't necessarily go on a Monday at 6pm on such short notice. And if you're an Eagles fan (both in Philadelphia or anywhere in the country) who was flying to Seattle, you have to change your hotels and flights, likely at some additional expense. It works out decently for the team competitively but they could have just flexed it to Sunday night. In theory you're told this could happen when you buy the tickets but this is the first season Monday was a possibility. It will probably depress the secondary market too, for what would have otherwise been a hotter ticket had it been MNF all along.

yeah, kind of like what I thought. but not a pure butt whipping like this. I can see why the 49ers were considered the best team. Eagles really outclassed. Johnson threw away the run game very early. not a good idea. kind of embarrassing. home field doesn't mean much anymore. the eagles will still make the playoffs. but one and out?

Eagles were exposed a bit today. The pass Defense is just so bad that teams will overcome the other strengths. Not having a single NFL LB on the roster is just not paying attention to the position too much. We just watch short passes being run against the team and we cannot defend them.

Covering short crossing routes is not primarily a linebacker responsibility. That's not how other teams cover them, either. I think this was Shannahan posterizing Desai--he schemed all these guys open. Too bad we can't do that...
