Worst part of today's game is that I guess there's zero chance Joe Brady heads back to State College to be their OC now.

Haha yeah that would have been nice but I think the chances were only a tick more than zero to begin with. They need to make that hire in the next week or two not at the end of the NFL season.

Jordan Davis only credited with 5 tackles. Sure seemed like about 25. Every run between the tackles that was stopped near the line of scrimmage seemed to end with him getting it off the ball carrier.

Odd that they told Scott not to return any kicks. He has had many good returns and he caught 2 of them near the 8 yard line. Seemed like he could have done something with some of them.

Has any kicker ever won ST player of the week by being 1/1 in FG? That is simply one of the most incredible kicks in NFL history. 57+ yards in the rain. I am not sure a more difficult kick has ever been made.

So now the Eagles play SF who gets extra rest before the game (Thursday game beforehand) and then the Cowboys, who have back to back Thursday games and get an advantage in 2 games.

At some point they need to even this out. Giving the Cowboys extra Thursday games every year is ridiculous. Limit each team to 2 and rotate who gets the Thanksgiving games, and rotate the very few teams that get 2 each year. Continuing to give the Cowboys these advantages is not well understood by the league apparently.

Frank reich was fired as head coach of the panthers - i would love the eagles to hire him as a consultant/mentor for their first year offensive coordinator

I think the Eagles will shy away from that for now and maybe bring him on informally for the playoffs if someone else doesn't offer him a full-time gig. Given Sirianni is still an offensive coach it's not all on Johnson, and given Johnson is Hurts' guy it might also be awkward.

The 2023/24 Eagles are the 40th team in the Super Bowl era to give up 500 yards to their opponent, give up 10 3rd down conversions, and lose the turnover battle in a particular game. The other 39 teams are 0-39..

Howie needs to go get Shaq Leonard, with Dean on IR and Cunningham pulling his hamstring yesterday, the Eagles are down to Ellis and Morrow as their only LBs. VanSumeren isn't ready yet.

Van Sumeren may be more ready than Leonard. I don't think being on the practice squad for 12 weeks is not important in getting solid in the system. Leonard has never played Desai's system.

Well, Van Sumeren is out of practice squad call ups, so he would need to be added to the active roster. Adding Leonard would be the same, so they would have to move someone else off the active roster to add either.

They can waive Josiah Scott, who does not seem to be an impact player at this point.

Last year the OC wasn't really under fire, and also wasn't the QBs personal favorite coach. Also Marcus Brady wasn't a former two-time head coach and former Eagles coach, I'm not sure anyone even noticed that he was brought in (I sure didn't). It just looks more politically fraught to me is all.

And also reminiscent of the Pederson/Reich/DiFilippo/Taylor years. Granted, Hurts ain't Wentz.

I don't understand why they wouldn't bring in someone to help an OC that is (rightfully) under fire - that makes a move like this more justifiable not less justifiable. The goal is to win the Super Bowl. If they can do it delicately, its for the greater good. I would not give up on the OC, but I would consider supporting him while he grows into the position.
