My guess is that they tried and failed on that one. But it seems that the $15 mill does indeed keep him for this year and I doubt we want him next year. I think he has value this year. He has regressed to the point he no longer can defeat the frequent double teaming, but there is a plus to the defense in having a DT who can require fairly consistent double teaming.

Outside of the rumors that the Bills, 9ers and Chiefs are interested and the fact that Fletcher hasn't been signed by the Eagles today? I guess not.

The other reason that there weren't trading partners is that other teams knew he'd be released. It's not like other teams aren't interested and the fact he hasn't signed yet reflects that.

No, it's not the same and I understand your point. But there is a real reason to trade some amount to secure the player (as in you don't think the player would sign with your team as a FA).

I agree with you about Nelson, but not sure I do regarding Reddick.

Also, all teams mentioned that were interested in trading for Cox were mentioned before he was released.

I kind of like what the Eagles have done this offseason even though it's low key. This should be an exciting draft. The Eagles have so many options.

It's a good signing, but the 1 year contract seems to benefit the player rather than the team. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's unlikely that the Eagles will see huge returns unless he can be traded/extended.
