Jacksons high ankle sprain is not all, he also has a small ankle fracture, so more like 6-8 weeks, so basically he might be available for the playoffs if they make it.

As bad as the Eagles have looked at times this season, if you saw the Cowboys today, they are a dumpster fire. To pour salt in their wound, Dalton was concussed by a vicious illegal hit, and he might not be able to play next week. Their backup is a kid they just drafted in the 7th round.

In last year's off-season thread some worried that the Cowboys hiring of McCarthy would move them ahead of the Eagles. That does not appear to be a concern, and it's not even Jerry's fault necessarily.

Love to se the cowboys losing. but very disappointed in their team for not standing up for Dalton. No-one went after that linebacker. that is terrible. JP went after that redskin DT after he cheap shotted Folsie years ago after an interception. i should say he went after a few skins. Also, the special teams went after the redskin that cheap shotted sproles on that punt catch just a few years ago. disheartening for cowboys fans. hope they keep losing.

Off IR and onto the active roster: OL Peters, WR Reagor, TE Goedert, LB Edwards and S Ford

Brought up for the game from practice squad: DT R. Williams, CB Jacquet

To the IR: LB Gerry, DE Avery

Released: TE Butler (will probably go back to the practice squad if he clears waivers)

Baffling that they don’t put Jeffery on IR. There is almost zero chance that he will contribute and he is a cancer to have on the team. I would much rather see him just sent home and given the 2005 TO treatment (the difference is TO could still play).

I really hope that they let Peters play OG. He may be a better OT than Maliata at this point (highly debatable) but he is not part of the future.

Add Lane Johnson to the will not play list for tonight. Mailata will start in his place (at least he did practice at RT this week), he'll have his hands full with DeMarcus Lawrence...

I am finished with Wentz. Fumbles, passes into bad situations and other mental walkabouts. He plays worse than many of the rookies and second year guys in the game. It’s time to play Hurts and adjust things to suit his skills. Wentz needs to sit and learn how to play the pro game.

Class of the Division

NBC said tonight they can win the division at 4-11-1. That would be pretty special.

Would they win or lose the extra game?

4-11-1 winning the division was already possible two weeks ago. That tie makes all the difference. But now that they've won two games since then, what's the realistic best record? I guess it is 7-8-1 if chalk - wins over Giants, Washington, Cowboys, lose to Seattle, Cleveland, Arizona, New Orleans.

So they could still go 8-7-1 if they steal one of the non-division games, or just start playing better in general. Conversely they could be 6-9-1 or worse if they don't win the ones they're supposed to. These last two have certainly been closer than anyone would really like. None of it seems worth it really but I felt the same way last year. It's fun to be better than our rivals every year but being a playoff team with no real chance of going anywhere doesn't help the team get better long-term.

it is fun to be better than their rivals but they played like what they are, a 2-4-1 team. now 3-4-1. all those participants on the post game show were very critical of the game. they are what they are, and i think they forget that. my feelings are known on the QB. i was trying to think last night, who is he comparable with, as far as previous QB's, in the league. and by this i mean historically. a QB that gives the ball up a lot. is now slow a foot. throws a real nice ball sometimes and terrible other times. Can lead the team down the field, but seems real dumb a lot of times. has a pretty decent arm, but struggles with the deep ball. Ryan Luck, Akili Smith, a young Manning (Not Peyton), Norm Snead, Warner? who knows.

All we can hope for is that they get healthier and subsequently better. Holding Johnson out was a smart move, with the bye coming at a good time, he should be back. They should get Seumalo back soon, plus Sanders. Ertz will be back late in the season, even DJax and Brooks could be could be back at the end of the season. Maybe they had into the playoffs healthy and clicking, that is the rosiest view I can think of.

He's way closer to Brett Favre or Roethlisberger (without the long-term success of either, yet.) You have to hope he stops dropping the ball on the turf and throwing it to the other team.

The long ball interception last night is totally OK...a good receiver would have tracked the ball better than 82 did. The one-handed fumble was ridiculous. He really wants to be a gunslinger, and without Ertz to check it down to he's sort of lost.

We are really thin at CB and could use a bigger back to grind things out against weak run defenses like the 'Boys.

Xogfog stares we are almost guaranteed a playoff spot, but I am not sure that is correct. We have a horrendous schedule where we will be looking at a very likely 5 game losing streak after the Giants. Honestly, if any of the three others can put any type of team on the field I think they can pass us (hope not). Oddly enough I think that Dallas and the Giants are both big threats.

I would still rather be a minor seller at this point, we need the draft picks because we are going into salary cap horrors very soon. Problem is most of our traceable assets are, of course, injured.

Could this be Howie’s first quiet trade deadline? We know he wants to do something, but maybe he just needs to disconnect his phone. Buying seems insane with this many injury-driven holes and an extreme need for cheap talent for the next few years.

i think a big back as well. Surprised they haven't used Holyfield at all. he is pretty big and played at Georgia. Certainly not the NFL but the SEC is pretty strong. he did pretty well at Ga.
