Thanks xogfog, excited for this season although it has already been and will continue to be a weird one.

I think the Eagles are a 9 win team; we'll be in a dogfight for the division and have a tough schedule albeit with a fantastic bye week placement.

It is going to be a fun ride either way....hopefully the NFL's safety protocols work out.

HI hope we finally take a step to getting a better defensive backfield, although we stil need talent in that area. Every year the game becomes more pass, less run and this franchise has really struggled to find DB’s (especially CB) that are strong. Now we at least have one.

Bummed that the talks with Ertz broke down, was hoping that would get worked out, but the Eagles are in a tough spot with the salary cap after this season. I honestly wonder if they will have to move on from Cox to fix it.

Looking forward to a season with fast WR, sad that we have already red shirted Watkins, but hopefully we still have serious deep threats. Would be really nice with the TE and RB we have to have deep threats, hoping Reagor works out.

LB is a black hole. We literally don’t have one. We may get run on a lot. I almost want to see 5 DL and 6 DB on the field. Not one.

Sanders and Barnett have been downgraded to OUT for the game today. They brought Opeta and McGill up from the practice squad to bring the roster to 55. Reagor now looks like he will play. Lane Johnson will likely be a game time decision. Jeffery and Hargrave will also be inactive.

Lane is officially a scratch. OL will be Peters, Semmy, Kelce, Herbig and Driscoll. Good luck Carson.

Interesting to see how Peterson attacks it. Lots of two TE with Boston or try to stretch it and play dink-a-doodle.

Lane Johnson will not play, Driscoll will get the start (think Ryan Kerrigan's salivary glands just went into overdrive). Herbig also gets the start at right guard over Pryor.

Eagles up 10-0 early in the 2nd quarter. Washington has four sacks already, otherwise the offense has looked good.

Bad coaching, Wentz with three turnovers, he's still holding the ball too long, still taking sacks instead of throwing it away. Yes they really missed Sanders today, but after a decent start, Wentz was terrible after the first interception.

Unless the injured guys get back quick this is a 6-10 football team (maybe not that good). Washington is BAD, and we are looking worse. Wentz was awful. Maybe they should start Hurts...

I really thought Washington was going to be 3-13 bad this year, but the defensive line is very good. They'll win some games on defense alone if they don't turn the ball over.

Yes, i think the "Franchise Quarterback" term should be eliminated. No way. Pretty good quarterback, maybe but certainly no franchise. And No"Run" Doug is back again.

The overall state of Philadelphia sports has suddenly grown pretty sorry again. Three years ago, the Eagles were on the march to a Super Bowl title with a team that appeared built to last. The Phillies' rebuild looked ready to step things up to a more competitive level. And with the Sixers, The Process looked ready to flower with Embiid, Simmons and a host of assets and cap space. In short, it looked like Philadelphia was at the dawn of a new golden age, reminiscent of the mid-'70's to early-mid-'80's. Now, the Eagles look like they need a rebuild, the Phillies rebuild has floundered if not gone belly-up (and needs a '93 style one season wonder to salvage something) and The Process is now in a shambles for the Sixers. Other than the Flyers (and Union), the future looks grim.

Did the Eagles really look built to last? They had Wentz, but that team was put together on a lot of old guys (both newly acquired and already there) and they still needed the Foles Miracle. Granted, they have failed to do anything with the cap space and draft picks in the meantime. We also write them off every season, though I also wouldn't expect any better results than the last two seasons.

It's definitely the Flyers turn. The Sixers are now in the same spot a lot of decent NBA teams are - perennial playoff contender, never a championship contender. The Blazers. Or Houston without the conference finals appearances.

I don’t think it takes long to rebuild in the NFL. Sevewl draft picks are ready to play, there are reserves on the Arctic’s squad, and because of the cap you can’t keep more than a couple of your stars, so there s a lot of player movement, unlike MLB.

It definitely doesn't take as long, but there's still some value in being bad for a couple of years. There's definitely no value in just missing the playoffs.
