Stadium Series hockey game feels super meaningless as an event (it's the 40th outdoor game) but the game is still important (which is also not ideal really. at least it's cold).

yeah I just don't think they need three of these a year (and there's even a second game tomorrow so technically four). the winter classic and one for Canada-only is plenty.

ice looks awful already too. And NBA will probably still win the ratings tonight.

Flyers lost to a more talented team that's a couple years ahead on the rebuild curve.

But NJ's rebuild is over, they have a core of top young players (picked #1 twice, Herschier, Hughes, and Hughes, Nemec), spend for Hamilton (IR), Palat and Haula, over 30 and Meier, at his peak at 27. If Daws is for real in goal they will pass the Flyers at some point.

But they've traded their 2nd and 4th rd pick, and Scott Wheeler has their talent pipeline at (#23), so they're no longer going to get a big influx of talent - they have to hope they can get healthy and make a run the next couple years before big extensions to their young stars ties their hands.

Wheeler is up to #13 (Carolina) in his talent pipeline evaluations, so I'm waiting for him to get to the Flyers (top 10, maybe top 5).
Flyers have (3) 1sts and (4) 2nds the next two drafts before they make any TDL deals.

Lycksell down and then up again. I wonder if TK is headed for the DL? They may as well play Lycksell rather than bouncing him around. I suppose we’ll see if a forward roster spot will open up for him.

Wheeler has Flyers' talent pipeline rated #6, Michkov of course is a big part, but also Bonk and Brink. Depth but not top 6/top 4 talent below them, though some like Andrae have that upside.

Another tough game where they played a top team even or better, but couldn't finish. With TK out, scoring talent is limited. But for a rebuilding team, they're awfully impressive. Briere is still likely to sell the next week or two, it's obvious even if they make the playoffs, they're not going very deep. When other teams raise their game, the lack of talent will be exposed.

Drysdale got caught with his head down and is hurt. He went straight off the ice and couldn’t lift his arm.

Penguins have owned us this game and Peterson is terrible.

Foerster left the ice with help too...not good

Foerster came back, he's fine. Probably just a bad bruise.

Drysdale wasn't playing well, so they could replace him with say Attard and not have a huge dropoff. Concern is more is whether it's severe enough to interfere with training this summer - he needs a summer building strength, then a pre-season of hard coaching by Shaw.

I haven’t seen anything on Drysdale yet. It looked like a broken collarbone the way he was carrying it.

supposedly his shoulder though, which has already been injured long-term before (and apparently he was already banged up before this game)

I have not seen any news on Drysdale yet, but Ristolainen was placed on the IR today, and may not come back this season

NHL reporters saying Drysdale likely week-to-week, not season-ending.
