It seems like the scouts believe him to be an elite two way center prospect and a 1C.

i'm not going to hold up a deal based on a mid-late first and the 32nd pick when i have the picks to move up if i choose.

i don't believe it's the Flyers that say no to that trade...Elite center prospects don't grow on trees.

I'm sorry...you don't give up a player some say may be a generational talent on lower first round picks in a draft many believe is just average after the first dozen dozen picks.

Those skills you've mentioned are all scouted to be elite or near elite.

I do think the better value is at the end of the first or early 2nd. Yes, Misa is great, but that's a lot of value to give up. I wouldn't hate it, but it's not what I would do.

Misa is not a generational talent, no one thinks that.
McKenna in 2026 may be that player.

Misa may become a franchise center, but I doubt he'll become available, I'm sure San Jose will listen to offers, but these deals almost never happen.

I've read nothing that suggests Misa is a generational talent, that is, one of the top 2-3 players in a decade, not one of the top 2 players in an average draft. If McKenna was available in this draft, at 17, he'd still be the #1 pick.

Even Schaefer, the consensus #1, isn't considered a generational player, though some may have him in the same tier as Makar.

IMO, which means nothing, but it's a difference on the talent level that you give up with the other picks.

True, but Misa is widely considers the first or second best prospect in the draft. He is comped to Patrick Kane. If he's close to Kane, wouldn't you do that trade? Do you really think two extra players at 22 and 40 would have greater value than that? Sorry, that just makes no sense.

Trade down for Eklund, draft whatever center you like and take Henry Brzustewicz. Is this a surprise to anyone?

I think Briere will target a half dozen prospects and see who drops then strike.
Reschny is a good example, if he falls to late teens, #22 + #48 could get you to #17.

Flyer organizational needs: Center, LD, goalie, RD, RW.
Great draft for center depth, and a number of goalie candidates in 2nd round.
They've stockpiled full-sized RHDs, Bonk, Grans, Samson, Gill.
They have too many undersized LHDs but none with great speed/puck carrying skills.
Only full-sized LHD is McDonald.
They have natural RWs coming out of the woodwork.

His draft year has been the stuff of legend, as he already has hit 50 goals and 100 points, and the season isn’t over yet. In fact, he is the second-fastest draft eligible in the past 25 seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) to reach the 50-goal mark. Only future Hall of Famer Patrick Kane, in 2006-07 with the London Knights, did it faster; he scored his 50th in his 47th game, while Misa did it in 50.
