Gimme Desnoyers at 6. Skating might not be elite, but it’s still really good. I have watched enough of his video highlights to believe in him being a methodical player on the ice. I believe that he thinks the game at a high level and is good enough to slow the play around him down. Granted the Q isn’t the best league but he was the best

But things will be fluid, there's always a player or two who rises/falls.

The #6 is pretty much the only pick of the 6 that's a 100% chance the use...all the others can be used to maneuver.

I think if they stay at 6 Desnoyers will be gone and probably Hagens too, your choices at that point are probably Frondell or O'Brien. Corey Pronman's latest player rankings have Schaefer alone in tier 1, Misa, Martone and Desnoyers in tier 2 and Hagens, Frondell, O'Brien, Edlund and McQueen in tier 3.

Probably not, you'd have to overwhelm a team, but San Jose might be a good trade partner they just got their top line center last year, so that is the one team you might be able to trade with. You give them 6, 24 and York for 2, they might do something like that. If they want a second center, Frondell would make sense for them as a checking center after getting Celebrini last year.

That's a pretty high price when it's such an inexact science. Probably easier to sneak up to 5 or 4 if there is a guy you want. I think i'd rather use York and 24 to get an NHL player (a youngish one).

Oh...it was definitely deflating.

To me, despite an excellent product, the NHL remains a second class league. Deflating is an apt description.

I am fine with Frondell, but Eklund is better than O'Brien at pretty much everything.

It will probably be Frondell, Martone or Eklund, depending who reaches ahead of them.
Things change, b/c we're talking 18 year olds, CHL POs are reaching the end and most of the top prospects are out, so now it comes down to film study, the combine and deciding who is on an upward trajectory.

Wildcard is some players are really old for their class

He really needs to be a better skater.

I know C is important, but it's not exactly a QB or LT. Take the most talented player. There will still be good centers in the 20s. FFS, Ryabkin is still being mocked at the end of the first.

Wheeler says that some scouts think none of Misa, Hagens or Frondell will stick at C, and that Desnoyers will but as a 2. So he wonder if the Sharks might take Desnoyers. He also suggests Brady Martin is now a Top 5 possibility after the worlds and could go to Flyers or Bruins

This one has Frondell to Flyers and Eklund at 13; if the latter is true that's a spot you try to trade up to.

Isn't this exactly why the Flyers were able to draft TK?

The fact that they already have his brother would also seems significant, just in terms of knowing more about his background/personality. But he could easily be gone.

I'm still thinking they trade into next year with one of the other picks and possibly lose their own '26 on an RFA

Not so popular opinion... the picks in the 20s have a much higher upside (comparative to the draft slots).
