I don't think Rossi is what they're looking for at center, the fact he was demoted in the playoffs suggests he struggles with physical play and tough forechecking. He's listed at 5'9 182. Would have to be sheltered in certain situations. He does have above average speed and burst, but he's not an elite skater.
He turned down a 5/5 offer from the Wild during the season. Just entering his first RFA season, so that was a pretty good offer.
They also would want to see what the draft brings, they're not going to make a big money commitment to a center if they draft one at #6.
I think they'd be interested at the right price, but they're not going to overpay in terms of picks/prospects or money,
