Frost sent to AHL. Please tell me there's a reason for this outside that the organization can't find a place for a goal scorer to be in a position to score goals.

He's getting 12mpg? He's been decent and not overmatched despite his size. The team has literally zero shootout goals.

I mean, the stated reason is he will get more playing time in more situations/roles in the AHL. But also, is it even a good atmosphere, being on the Flyers? And if it makes the team worse is that actually bad?

He'll be back once the trades start, if not before.

I had a much more detailed response, but who is the last prospect that benefited from time on the Phantoms?

Pairing Frost with anyone that can either pass or score would be a big improvement.

At some point we need to blame the organizational philosophy.

I haven't really been watching, what line was he usually on. I think he would really have benefited playing with Giroux and Atkinson, but if I had to guess he was on the 2nd or 3rd line?

I'm not defending any decision the Flyers make. But that is what they said. And someone had to go down until they ship out some of these vets.

Lately he's been on the 3rd line with pretty much no one.

I'm generally a proponent of putting a smart player with a scoring/fast player.... so pair him with G, Couts, or Farabee (yes, I know injuries may have prevented some of that).

Size wise I think Frost will end up at wing in the NHL. It’s true he would be a better fit with guys that aren’t grinders,

I Last nights game should be the “base” game for this season.

Ahead 3-2, 1:00 to go in the 3rd period and the Flyers were awarded a 2 minute power play after much discussion (at one point apparently it was going to be a 5 minute major). Somehow, the Flyers managed to lose 4-3 (I watched it, but am still confused how a team could lose under these circumstances).

If they aren’t tanking I really have no idea how this could possibly be fixed in less than 5 years. This really is the worst Flyers Team I have ever seen. This looks like the 2013 Phillies, old players that clearly must be moved and young players that simply can’t play.

In the obvious rebuild coming (actually, it is a build, there is no re- to it) I hope we dedicate immense resources in scouting and drafting, and absolutely none in NHL level coaching, coaching the guys that are going to be on this team for the next couple years is probably a waste of time . Some of them will move on to other teams as role players, but none of them will still be here when this team is competitive again.

Playoffs in 2028? Later?

They really need to sell the team. I was not expecting this era of pure corporate ownership to only reinforce the Old Flyers culture even more, but nature abhors a vaccuum. At least when the other three teams screw up you know which rich guy to blame.

Article is from last week but there seems to be some movement towards a deal that includes Tippett...Tippett is being held out of his game.

I just came to post the same speculation. It's my wife’s birthday and she wanted to go to the game tonight. I bought last minute tix a few hours ago. Giroux’s 1000th game may be his last as a Flyer. Florida would be a good landing spot for him with a team with a legit chance.
