I really like Walker but where does he play?

Walker is a 6’5” shooting guard. Both Reddick and Belinelli are FA. Markelle is a combo guard who is broken and may never recover. There are no other SG of starting caliber on the roster. He’s desperately needed in terms of position/upside.

There seems to be this desperation by some fans to label things so early that it's almost comedy.

Fultz is not broken...he had an injury and needs time to work his way back. Any rationale where we pick him to replace fultz or for the failure of fultz is not accurate.

Frankly, that is nonsense...even if Fultz turns out great we could use Walker as a backup shooting guard and small ball SF. However, the best that can be said is Fultz is a complete unknown even optimistically. Thus, plenty of need for Walker in the even he doesn’t pan out. I don’t know why you are being obtuse.

I'm not being obtuse...I'm saying using the idea fultz is a bust to justify using the 10th pick on someone who could possibly be a back-up guard is an interesting take on your part. If fultz can improve his jump shot then he can be on the floor at the same time as Simmons and makes match-ups extremely difficult on defenses.

I think the sixers are better off bringing back Redick and looking for some frontcourt help.

You're writing a book that isn't close to being written. I'm not drafting a player in case the 1st pick in last years draft is probably a bust.

I think I'd rather roll the dice that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander can be a decent shooting/combo guard rather than taking Lonnie Walker. Shai seems to have a higher ceiling.

I really like Miles Bridges. His defensive profile seems to say NBA but his offense isn't that far behind. We're probably never going to see this pick used as I'm still convinced there will be a trade on draft night...

If you're still interested in Kawhi, then I'm not sure you've seen the reports that the Spurs are trying to meet with him this week. 5 years, $219M goes a long way to reconcile a relationship.

Having said that, he's not signed yet. I also wouldn't mind moving up in the 4-7 range for Doncic, Jaren Jackson Jr, Michael Porter Jr, or Trae Young.

And since we're talking about shooting guards, I wouldn't mind trading back into the mid teens for Kevin Huerter. He has great shooting form, a quick release, and has a .394 3P% on 5.4 attempts per game. He also seems athletic enough. But if the team signs Redick, then I could see the team going with Wendel Carter or either Bridges. Or maybe Kevin Knox.

It's too bad Jontay Porter withdrew from the draft. I was hoping he'd be a steal at #26.

One of the reasons I mentioned Jontay as a steal was because I think he could go top-15 (or even 10) with another year of college ball. I like Carter and Bates-Diop and think they would be solid picks, but both are college seniors and both are kind of maxed out as far as potential goes.

Okogie is a similar example of what I was going for.

Duval and Brown don't shoot well enough for my taste. Not sure what was up with Brown, but his shooting was much worse this year than his freshman year.

Brown can score, which is something they could really use on the second unit.

I love Carter. If he can be a Patrick Beverley and just hound the guards you will be facing nightly in the East (Dragic, Lowry, Irving, Russell, Walker....), That is a dimension the Sixers lack. With NBA conditioning, he may be a super human.

I am all for trading up for Doncic or Jaren Jackson Jr. I wonder what it would take. If the team truly isn't interested in bringing in a top FA this offseason, then it may not be too expensive to trade up with Memphis but that would involve taking a bad contract back (like Parsons).

I know it would be a little crazy, but if the Sixers don't trade their picks, they might be in position to draft four Villanova players with their first four picks. Bridges and DiVincenzo could easily be available at the 10 and 26 picks respectively, Spellman and Brunson early in the second round where the Sixers pick at 38 and 39. All four players would actually fit with the Sixers. You could play them as a unit!

The draft boards are moving around as the draft approaches. At this point, there is no way to gauge what the Sixers will do. Do they trade for Kawhi, do they stay put and draft, do they trade up for a top five pick? All of this with no GM. Brett Brown really has to get this right.

Kawhi has said he won't play more than one year anywhere outside of LA, so he's out. The first three picks are going to be Ayton, Bagley, and Doncic, so after that there is no one worth going up for. Sixers are going to stay put or make a small move up or down. All the seconds will be stashes or sold, and it's a bad year for euros.

The current core has to get better for us to win.

It is funny, he is basically telling LeBron and Paul George where he is going. I wonder if either (both) of them say "ok, lets do that".

I wonder if they would actually go to the Clippers instead. Probably not, but remember, most of the players LeBron didnt want in Cleveland are now on the Lakers.
