I didn't like him or his kid getting Sixers positions anyway. It reminds me so much of the league execs forcing Kuharich on the Eagles and old-school ties to league management pushing Carpenter (maybe with a nudge from commish) to let the unmonied Giles put together a group to buy him out and then play GM.

I haven't seen that reported anywhere.

Ultimately, I have no issues with the Sixers conducting a legitimate investigation and coming out with a statement that, essentially, exonerates Colangelo from all guilt. But, they also need to be aware how that move may impact them in Free Agency/Trades this offseason.

This investigation cannot be conducted in a silo, looking only at guilt/innocence.

Technically Jerry doesn't work for the Sixers in any significant capacity anymore, he was the "chairman of basketball operations" and an advisor for like six months but moved to being only an advisor once he hired his son. If Bryan goes, he goes. Or he's just meaningless.

The question is, who is the still-active account that also tweeted during the press conference, and why hasn't it been deleted or locked?

Oh, I guess I thought the three locked accounts were the one with the 91 number but it's two of those, plus the Eric Jr.? Still doesn't make sense why it wasn't unlocked (though it won't do any good now). Still maybe possible Bryan had other accounts and used his wife's number? Or their kid? Some have even suggested Jerry, but that seems about as likely as Dallas Green (may he rest in peace) knowing how to set up Twitter and 2FA.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. The media has already held the funeral.

Speculation is that she lost the password for the Eric Jr. account. Would she still be able to tweet but not take it private? I don't know how the platform handles that. Other speculation is that it's a different family member who doesn't quite get why it's dumb to keep tweeting.

Eric Jr and Phila1234567 are the two accounts that the journalist brought to the Sixers. I assume that whomever owned the accounts thought that closing the account would make them look guilty and instead made the three accounts they thought were not known account private. Of course there may be more accounts that were put to private that are not known about.

Threatening to sue for libel without actually filing is usually a sign you're guilty, he probably has good advice there. But it would also be hard to win unless you could prove the Ringer's source was malicious or knowingly spreading lies (which he isn't really, just offering a theory). Many of the tweets and other articles may actually be more libelous than the original.

I'm sure the team and the league just wants him to keep his mouth shut. If it's really not true he'll be vindicated by their investigation. At this point he might have a suit, if not for libel than for tortious interference maybe? But what are the odds that's how this goes?

The NBA has to be furious this is going on during the finals. I would imagine there is a lot of pressure to get this done quickly.
