Look, it's not like it was 20 years ago where the PG brings the ball up court and passes to someone who shoots it. It is perfectly fine have more than one player who is a good ball-handler and creates. The problem is they play the same position and that Simmons has a questionable outside shot.

Yes, we keep hearing Simmons is going to play point-forward. The exact same position that Lebron plays. It's not like pairing him up with Kyrie who has a good outside shot, plays/guards a different position, and is elite at finishing at the rim (his defense is bad, though).

I'm not against Lebron coming to the Sixers, but it's not a good fit. You'd have to trade Saric and find a replacement for Covington to be a 3-D guy because he's going to get a big contract next year.

It would be a curious decision for Lebron's last run for more titles while still having to face one of the greatest teams ever to win those titles (at least for a few years).

I don't see LeBron going anywhere. He has his rings and he's a God in his hometown area. And where would he go that can win before age catches up to him (and can afford to carry his cap hit when they start winning).
I hate the idea of trading for George. He won't make them a champion next year and then he's a free agent. Pass.

Truth is, it's Embiid or bust. If Embiid is healthy, this is a 50+ win team right now which will get better the next three years. He's that good, HOF good. He's just scratched the surface of his talent.
Just keep building around him and hope for a Bill Walton couple rings before he breaks down.
Embiid - Simmons - RoCo - TLC - Bayless
Holmes - Saric - ??? - TJ - ??? (depends on draft pick)
Then add two more 1st rd picks next year and Korkmaz.
Then add two more 1st rd picks the following year and a FA.
Stir, simmer and serve.

I think the Sixers will trade down if they can, unless they love Ball and he falls to #3.
The rest are either bad fits or good fits who can be garnered later, like Isaac or Smith.
Sacramento might trade up, but I think they need a face saving sweetener, maybe 2 2nd rd picks or Okafor plus.

If LeBron wants to go to the Lakers NEXT summer, more power to him.
Since it won't impact the 2018 Laker pick!
He can join George, meanwhile we can just wait for them and GS to get old.

I am starting to like his kid. Seems to at least have the understanding of why no one should want LaVar involved in their franchise.

My main reason for not wanting Lonzo is that in 4 years his father will insist that he either sign with the Lakers or whichever team has his little brother. LaVar has made it very clear that he is going to drive this to where all 3 are playing in the NBA together. Drafting Lonzo will be a HUGE mistake.

Here's what i'll say...it would be a huge mistake for the sixers to stay at 3 and pass on Lonzo Ball.

You either draft him or move out of the spot.

I very much agree.

Isn't it difficult for the controlling team to lose a player after 4 years? That's why I'm not overly concerned about LaVar.

I can't give much credence to a guy who writes that the Sixers can then get their guy, perhaps Malik Monk at 3. I'd be very disappointed with Monk at 3. He made a lot of shots, but the whole team worked on getting him open for those shots. Fox made his own opportunities, and Fox is probably only the 4th or 5th best guy in the draft.

I think the point is the sixers could muck up the lakers making a move down by saying they will take Jackson. Honestly, I don't think they want to pick at 3 and hope to move down and get some good value to do so.

I really love Fox as a player, just not sure of his fit with the Sixers. Comparing his play to even Fultz, Fox has speed and defensive skills that would thrive in the NBA right now. I wouldn't be surprised if he were seen as the "best" point guard in this class in a year before Lonzo and Fultz come up, although I'm not as high on Fultz as the world seems to be....

LaVar will surely be more of a distraction to the League were Lonzo go to the Lakers because they are right around the corner. There is nothing that says LaVar will even be with Lonzo next season as he is "preparing" Melo and Gelo Ball for UCLA and their Drafts. Lonzo is likely the most ready made out of the three, so it's very likely that the Melo and Gelo Ball circuses are even more bizarre as Lavar calls attention to them. I could totally be wrong, but I think many will be surprised if the Sixers were to draft Ball at exactly how boring his side show turns out to be

It is an interesting point that LaVar can only be crazy in one place at a time, not sure what his priority will be. He has to be crazy in Lonzo's home or his dream of a 3 brother superteam kinda dies, but you are right, the little brothers have to get some crazy also, maybe even a great deal if it looks like somehow the next one up is not going to be a top 1-5 draft pick.

My guess is that he will be crazy with Lonzo because he has to sell the name, and just hope that the next brother is able to move to the draft spot he needs to, but your guess is as good as mine. i just know I would rather not the Sixers fans be the victims of LaVar's crazy, and I fear we might be.

I really think Magic is starting to think "I don't need this junk, especially since I have a point guard that was just drafted a couple years ago".

I think where i'll disagree is once he's drafted he's gotten him to the finish line and his play will be what generates the buzz and the dollars.

I think dad will go and focus on the other kids once the draft is over since there is very little left to negotiate...or rather very little left for him to mess up in negotiations...

I think BC wants to trade down in the worst way, the best players are bad fits, the good fits aren't worth the #3.
Ironically, there's a good bet that a guard taken in the 2nd rd will get more PT than their first round pick (if he can shoot the "3").

Lonzo Ball is a good PG and is deserving of being picked that high...it's a mistake to think he's slipping due to flaws in his game.

You have this really odd habit of trying to play up inferior picks and such to discount premium picks. If a second round pick is getting more PT than a top 5 pick, you did it wrong.

I don't think Ball will be available, if the Lakers don't want him they'll trade down.
I'm thinking Jackson, Fox, etc. Bad fits.
Monk would be a good fit but an overdraft. So would Tatum and Isaac.

The lakers wont trade if they truly want Jackson because there is no way he gets past the sixers.
