I get what you're saying...this management team has not done a great job with things publically but it's time to admit that the NBA had Noel and Okafor pegged. They aren't getting 15 minutes a night at this point. Those two players had minimal value.

Time will tell. They both are young players on terrible teams trying to find their future.

The reality is we desperately need a backup C for when Embiid sits and does not play. Watch the game tonight vs the Heat with Embiid out. Miami drives the rim at will and is absolutely killing us. We are literally giving away games due to this hole - Amir Johnson? That is the best we can do? Holmes has not developed into anything, terrible.

BC ripped them publicly and then did not play them - that is a quick two step for failure. Absolutely moronic.

The Sixers did give away the first half, but came back with a fury and beat the Heat 104 -102. They are five games over .500 for the first time since 2012, they swept the home stand and have 30 wins with 27 games left to play.

Sixers are well positioned to make a run for the 4th playoff spot and one round of home court advantage in the playoffs.

If Belinelli contributes even a little and if core stays healthy, the team should generate excitement through April even if Fultz never plays a game this year.

Sure, but the goal should be to win rings, not generate excitement. This team has been over hyped enough already, time to actually deliver. If Fultz flops or is ruined, that severely damages our future and, no, Belinelli is not the antidote to that. He'll likely be gone after this season.

They are basically in the first season where there have been expectations. I'm not sure what team you're watching.

Most predictions for the Sixers this year hovered around .500. They are playing better than that, with the easy part of their schedule left, and that's with zero contribution from their #1 draft pick. They are certainly exceeding my expectations. I agree with BEgypt about that.

If Joel can stay on the court they have a shot to actually make some noise in the playoffs.

In terms of winning rings, VfK is correct that Fultz being broken sets them back in that regard. If he's not fixable they have to get lucky in the lottery or with a later pick to fill his role. I'm not sure there are any "max" players who figure to be in Philly next year as free agents, and that's the main other way for them to make the jump to contender.

They're going to miss Redick if they don't sign him for another year, and they probably won't be able to afford him.

Simmons has been way better than anyone had a right to expect. So much fun to watch, too.

This team is currently 2 games out of the 4th spot in the east and honestly they are better than I thought they would be this year. Keeping everyone healthy would be a big step.

Redick has been great, and really I don't see any reason they couldnt sign him if they wanted. They certainly don't have too much money tied up in any other players with only Embiid with a big contract. That said, Redick is getting older and while I think he is having a very strong season I am not sure a 4 year contract (guessing) will really be money well invested.

These type of decisions will determine if we have a 2-5 seed in the next few years or if we contend for a championship. Colangelo making them concerns me, but honestly I am not sure who I would want doing.

The sixers were playing a really bad bulls team but did pull it out in the end.

The lakers are currently sitting in the 9th draft spot. The teams they are ahead of are pretty terrible so we may luck out.

New thread for the Sixers current season. Good game last night, was thrilled that Embid wasn't held to 16 minutes.

SI has the sixers getting Lonnie Walker Jr at 11. The kind of pick you can take your time developing. They also have them drafting Chandler Hutchinson at 16 and he seems more of an immediate contributor.

You may be right about waiting another year because it also seems we will be a player in the free agent market this coming off season.

Yes, the #1 or #6/7 pick would be nice. Otherwise, I think I'd rather have it convey to the Lakers.
If the Sixers keep the Kings pick next year, then you'll be watching a lot of Duke games.... Barrett, Reddish, and Zion Williamson. Also, Bol Bol!

If the Sixers get the Lakers pick this year, Boston gets the better of the Kings or Sixers pick next year. The Kings will be awful and there is a good chance they get the 1st pick next year. ESPN has them picking 1st in their 2019 Mock Draft. The pick is protected in that scenario and the Sixers will keep it, otherwise if the pick is 2nd or higher, it goes to the Celtics.

the lakers are bad but not as bad as some of those other teams.
