Most predictions for the Sixers this year hovered around .500. They are playing better than that, with the easy part of their schedule left, and that's with zero contribution from their #1 draft pick. They are certainly exceeding my expectations. I agree with BEgypt about that.
If Joel can stay on the court they have a shot to actually make some noise in the playoffs.
In terms of winning rings, VfK is correct that Fultz being broken sets them back in that regard. If he's not fixable they have to get lucky in the lottery or with a later pick to fill his role. I'm not sure there are any "max" players who figure to be in Philly next year as free agents, and that's the main other way for them to make the jump to contender.
They're going to miss Redick if they don't sign him for another year, and they probably won't be able to afford him.
Simmons has been way better than anyone had a right to expect. So much fun to watch, too.
