Where does that put them vis-a-vis the cap? B/c there is a scenario where they can land Leonard and Paul George. Is that better then Leonard and Gasol?

I think you leave him in for the 1st half. But, if it's really not working in the 2nd half, and you have a chance to win a thisclose to must win game in the playoffs, you play to win, not for development.

I think there are probably scenarios where that is true but I would imagine the Spurs are going to want to clear some contract to make it worth a rebuild...

So I needed a little distraction...a friend of mine sent me a link to some of the articles about Kawhi Leonard and the sixers having the pieces to make a deal...the one I see the most is something like

Any appetite for that?

I posted this a couple months ago, minus Covington and Gasol, and I think everyone said no to it.

I am very much interested in Kawhi and am hoping he can be had for less than that because teams know that he doesn't want to stay in SA.

Well, now LeBron can join because this early exit means when he signs and takes the team to the 2019 NBA championship, he’ll be credited with the win - if the Sixers got to the Finals, he’d just be Kevin Durant joining an already top team.

True, but there were adjustments to be made and Brown didn't make them. Surely, he can't take over Ben Simmons' body and make better decisions, but it's crystal clear that the Celtics are forcing Simmons into the half court, effectively taking the ball from his hands. That's on Brown to find a way to get buckets.

The Celtics are without their two best players and Jaylen Brown missed a game and hasn't been fully healthy when he's played. Brett Brown should be a little embarrassed. You have said that Brett Brown may be a great coach. It really doesn't seem like it right now.

Brett puts TJ in the starting lineup and he controls the game, Sixers win by 11. Back to Boston for game 5, which they have to win, obviously. This is the kind of game that the trailing team in the series almost never seems to win. Gotta change that pattern!

I was at the game tonight. Surreal to think that Sixers stay alive in a game when Embiid, Simmons, Redick and Belinelli all contributed little offensively. Big kudos to the defensive effort.

This series - without the shocking turnovers at end of Game 3 - should be tied, and could easily be 3-1 Sixers.

Still an overwhelming challenge ahead, but at least they showed some pride and stayed alive.

1) Fultz and Simmons to shooting camp
2) Corporal punishment for turnovers
3) Stop believing their own hype
4) Sign Lebron, trade for Kawhi, or both

Tatum may have been the best player on the floor, surely best Celtic. Our half of the trade was yet another DNP Coach's decision

I mean...they won 52 games and a playoff series after being an absolutely horrible team for years. Their youth was completely exposed and the lack of shooters made it easier to defend them.

I don't mind teams with swagger. I am off the LeBron train because I think this team needs to move some pieces to get more needed pieces...I want kawhi Leonard.

Fultz wasn't ready to contribute in the playoffs. I'm not going to make any judgements on that trade until I see Fultz play more and go through a camp. Fultz showed glimpses of why he went #1 during the season so I'll wait to write that story.

I don't see Fultz as being any different from Embiid or Simmons. He was hurt. The season was a loss. Yes, in hindsight,for now, there was no reason to trade up, but I don't recall there being a consensus at the time that they should just take whoever (let alone Tatum specifically), plus Fultz was a positional fit.

My feeling is we would have got Fultz at #3 without the fleecing of any other action, let alone a top pick. Colangelo was played.
