I'd be very happy with either Bridges Seems like an odd order (I have Bagley as this years Okafor). I don't think I'd pass on Trae for either Bridges, though.

Fultz is 19. 19! Patience will be rewarded, just as it was with Joel, Ben, Saric, Agholor and Kelce. Sometimes a break in the action can be part of the growing up and getting better of maturation. As the Beatles said-"Let it Be".

I totally agree that patience is needed, but it was also needed with Nerlens and Okafor, which didn't lead to anything.

Yes, Fultz is young, but Tatum is only a few months apart and I don't think you can overlook what a player of Tatum's caliber could do to help a team in the playoffs. While Fultz may have been the right pick (I've always had my doubts), the simple fact that giving up a years worth of production in the playoffs isn't something that can be brushed aside and simply referred to as being "redshirted". That production will be missed for the playoffs this year even if it doesn't mean much to Fultz's career.

I think the Sixers have a real chance against anyone in the East this year. That should only get better next year with a draft choice and Fultz.

His reward? Shuttled to the bench, ignored and frozen out. Shameful treatment for any player much less a 1st rd pick

His trade value predictably went down the toilet and he was finally dumped for nothing

Nerlens got more playing time and opportunity during his time here, but he also was shunted aside and buried for unknown reasons. Again, his trade value was hit hard by that and he was given away for nothing.

Thank goodness for Hinkie - if JC and by nepotism, his son BC, had been in charge from the beginning we'd be nowhere.

Doesn't seem worth re-litigating at this point, or especially relevant to Fultz's unique situation. And the Sixers still have the same coach who didn't play those guys

I totally agree with this. However, I don't think Okafor is a great player in the current NBA. The only advanced stat the shows he's an average player is PER and that stat favors offensive players. Most advanced stats have him as a negative player. Still, he seemed like the pick that Hinkie should have made given the information at the time. I always like Nerlens for what he was.. a defensive player who could run the floor and move well. Just don't ask him to put the ball on the floor.

My main gripe with Fultz missing his rookie season is people comparing him to Embiid and Simmons. The team got Embiid because he had to miss time. The team got better draft picks by both Embiid and Simmons sitting out their rookie years. In contrast, the team gains nothing that I can think of by Fultz missing his rookie season and had to give up a future 1st to draft him. It's not even close to the same situation as Embiid and Simmons.

If Fultz can get his shot back, then he'll be fine and the team should be in the upper half of the playoffs for years to come. I just don't think we can brush aside his rookie season as he really could have contributed to a playoff team and the team doesn't gain anything from him sitting.

Having said all that, the Sixers are an exciting team to watch and should only get better next year with Fultz and a top 10 pick (hopefully) in a strong draft.

I'd have to know why Kawhi didn't play this year when the team apparently felt he should be playing before I traded for him. I'm skeptical about why a player couldn't play for an organization like the Spurs, who are very highly respected.

I'm not sure I'm giving up that much for Leonard either way. The sixers have built themselves from the inside and to trade that many assets is a tough pill to swallow. If you cant get LeBron to play here with this cast it's probably not worth it.

I get why you'd like to build the team from the inside, but it's not like that is the model for the top teams in the NBA. Yes, it's a lot of assets, but you're trading for a top 5 player in the NBA with two years left on his deal and with a good contract.

Saric has become a very good player for the role he plays with this team. You add Lebron and you're a team going to the finals with the supporting cast. You add Fultz and another lottery pick to the mix and you're pretty much set. That's a lot to give up for a player with 2 years left to free agency and requiring another max contract.

Don't the top players pretty much play on short term deals anyway? Subbing out a good role player and a few lottery tickets seems fine to me for a top 5 player that has like the 40th highest contract in the league. Especially since you can't say for sure that Lebron will come to Philly. And keep in mind that in 2 years Saric will probably command an extension like Covington, which will be $15M+. Kawhi at $21M is a steal and the reason that the top players are so valuable.

Obviously, getting a top player like Lebron to sign and not having to give up something is ideal and I understand your point. And I would agree it seems like a fun team to play for and should attract some top players. However, the team had to greatly overpay for Redick last year to lure him from Houston. Maybe things are different now that the Sixers are actually winning, but the Sixers are probably 3rd at best on Lebron's wish list right now. Adding Kawhi would probably put them as favorites in the East and if it increases that chances of signing Lebron, then they would be a finals favorite.

I dont know if I believe this but it seems like they're leaving the decision to return this season to Fultz?

If there isn't a reason to hold him back medically, but he has confidence issues with his shot, then why would this surprise you? He's had well documented issues with his shot and it seems like there is way too much downside to play him until he's confident with it. I guess you could make the argument that Ben Simmons isn't confident with his shot and he's playing, but it seems like it could be disastrous to Fultz if he passes up open shots or gets anxiety shooting free throws.

Probably best to start fresh next season. Keep his off-season work to in-team personnel and work with a sports psychologist. Keep him a thousand miles from his personal trainer.

That's probably what I would have done a while ago, but if the team still thinks he could make it back this year, then he could get some minutes at the end of the season or in the playoffs. He's probably the best penetrator and finisher on the team (or at least should be), so he would have value in the playoffs. I would just be worried that he doesn't have enough confidence in his shot to pull the trigger from the outside or that he might get the yips from the line.

It is also a little odd that his coach is basically saying that he's healthy and ready to go whenever he feels confident enough. That seems like what the situation is, but it also seems like he's throwing his player under the bus by putting it that way. Unless I am misinterpreting his statement, which is entirely possible.
