Gillick is still an owner, so he doesn't need the puffery. Also interesting how low the Chairman Emeritus title is now! I assume that when MacPhail leaves they may elevate David Buck's title to President on the business side.
Klentak being in the executive tier instead of the baseball tier is the odd part. Especially when everyone in the baseball tier is someone he hired, including the GM. But that's exactly the point I guess: just too awkward for him to advise - let alone work for - them. Maybe he consults with Dombrowski (or Middleton/MacPhail) or maybe he just sits at home reading reports.
