Forget Hamels, at this point I'd keep a close eye on Irvin.
Hamels has steadily lost velocity and effectiveness the last two years. 23-32 was a great decade of pitching, now he's on the downslope at 33-34.
Right now he's at 90-91 t93 with a good changeup and cutter.
Funny thing is he started that way from 2007-2009, then jumped in velocity at 2010.
Archer really isn't having that bad of a season, his ERA is inflated far more than his FIP.
He's lost a little velocity, but it's his slider that's the problem, from an out pitch to slightly above average.
What would make me wary with him is he's never really developed his changeup and doesn't have a fourth pitch, so that suggests he won't age well (make the transition from thrower to pitcher), but might be a great candidate to convert to a closer if he struggles as a starter where he only needs two pitches and could throw hard for 1-2 innings.
Duffy hasn't lost velocity (lost it last year) but is struggling to find an effective slider and changeup, so he could be a good salvage job if you can pick him up cheaply. Two pitches that went from plus to minus.
Storman's another guy with a ERA jump that isn't matched by FIP, though like Duffy his slider and changeup have gone south, making his FB easier to hit.
