I heard he's pitching tomorrow, facing Warren Spahn......I'd be hesitant about requesting tickets to that game

apparently what was good for the goose was not good for the gander?
RIP Marshall Dillon
Don't see where it says Kervorkian was terminally ill like his patients?
This is what I hate about the internet. It is possible to die without being in a pain that would make one want to committ suicide? Yes?
Gunsmoke star James A(u)rness
I did not know he was Peter Graves brother.
RIP Marshall.
Apparently Gunsmoke was almost cancelled in 1967 but the story goes that the wife of the CBS president put pressure on her husband to bring the show back. Gilligan's Island was cancelled to make room on the schedule for Gunsmoke. As a 12-year-old, I was mad.
Nevertheless, I also likes Marshall Dillon and continued to watch the show. He was a good one. RIP
also, THE THING. he was a dandy.gm

Jim Northrup -- best known for his Tiger's years. Before my time, my Dad said he was a nice player.
Clarence Clemons of E Street Band fame.
Gee, I find it kind of hard to believe that the board is not lit up about this one. I heard about it while I was working out (and watching the Phillies game) from the Seattle-based game crew. It nearly killed my workout. (Polanco striking out with Howard at second actually did stop me for about 5 minutes).
To me, the Springsteen-Clemons tandem was nearly as significant as Lennon-McCartney because of the synergy that existed between them. I am fortunate that I got to see them in concert together.
I am surprised to see that he was 69, I guess we are all getting old.
Sad to see a great musician go. RIP.

(MTV show name withheld by censor) "star" Ryan Dunn died in a car crash along Route 322 early this morning. Here's the beginning of a good anti-drunk driving PSA:
he was about the only likable guy on that show.
Peter Falk
Gil Spencer
This one hits a little close to home. Falk bought a house for his mom many years ago in Pennington, NJ across the street from close friends. His widow, Shera Danese, was a year behind me in high school when she was still Sherri Kaminski. I went to her birthday party one year and ended up kissing her in a situation that was too absurd to merit retelling. She was a pretty girl but I didn't remember as one with acting asperations until she found her way to Hollywood, won small roles in TV and films, including Risky Business. After marrying Falk she appeared a number of times in Columbo. Falk was about 20 years her senior so she probably expected this day would someday come. Very sad, my heart goes out.
