The man was a talent. This is a loss.
Ed Shaughnessy, longtime Tonight Show drummer.
**To those reading this who did not see the Carson Tonight Show, you really missed great entertainment. Get the CDs, watch the youtube clips, etc. Those who saw, well, we still miss Carson. RiP, Mr. Shaughnessy. **
Ed Shaughnessy did a lot of fantastic work with many great jazz artists through the years.
I guess Doc Severinsen is the last remaining regular from the Tonight Show.

Gene Freese - Former Phillie 3rd baseman
Freese only spent one season with the Phillies, putting up a career high .843 OPS. He was then traded in the offseason... The Phillies acquired 20 year old Johnny Callison in the deal.
The above article says Freese also was the man who first labeled Pete Rose as "Charlie Hustle"
I remember Gene Freese and I really liked him the year he played for the Phillies.
Phillies traded Solly Hemus to the Cardinals for Freese and after one season, traded him to the White Sox for Johnny Callison. Freese had his only season with a plus .800 OPS (.843) with the Phillies in 1959 (at 25 season). For what ever reason, Freese was traded four times in less than 3 years (June 1958 to December 1960) and in his career went from the Pirates to the Cardinals to the Phillies to the White Sox to the Reds to the Pirates to the Reds to the White Sox to the Pirates to the White Sox to the Astros.
The Hall of Fame Facebook page has a photo of Freese in a Phillies uniform. At one time, I knew how to put photos from the web into posts here, but the last several times I tried to post photos, it didn't work.
Here it is LSP:
OK, thanks bkox.
