There was a short period where I thought Eickhoff was going to be a solid part of the Phillies' rotation, but like so many, he just didn't provide consistently good starts.

Kinda - but, there was no clear diagnosis (scroll down to the last paragraph of this article).
Has anyone noticed that Cesar Hernandez has 17 home runs? And his OPS is 41 points worse than last year because he is only hitting .227. The aging curve (when power becomes more important) combined with shifts is really changing the game when players like Cesar are incentivized to hit for more power.

Since most players seem to get a bump in their final year on the ballot, Schilling might have been able to get in next year if he had just kept his mouth shut. Of course, he's not good at that.
If he could have kept his mouth shut, me may well have been elected several years ago.

Marlins may cut bait on Alfaro this winter and non-tender him. Marlins beat writers with the Miami Herald seem certain that will be the case. He really seems to have gone off the rails.
I wondered if we would regret the Realmuto trade if Sanchez and Alfaro broke out. But it looks like we have def won that trade. The 3rd part of that trade, Will Stewart, is struggling in AAA
