Saw him here a lot in DC. He had a bad year but a huge part of it was bad luck. .234 BABIP for a speed player (career .314). Normalize that and he once again falls in the OPS 650-675 range where he is in his average years.
In general though he was acceptable in CF. He is still only 28 (29 in May) and he is really inexpensive at only $4 million. Good clubhouse guy and add it all up and you get someone who will at least get a couple more chances to show last year was an aberration.
Free agent contracts often over-react to the last year and a small sample. In that light Revere is a good risk on this new deal.
