Alfaro is having a season where he is also a little bit better than last year though Realmuto is clearly better now. 8 HR so far with a slash of 259/319/435. Leading the league in passed balls with 6 (of course), but throwing out 5 of the 11 basestealers so far. If he ever learns how to block balls at close to a league average rate he will be above average defensively.
Both trades were "win now" trades and there is nothing wrong with that. Sixto is doing OK in AA also. We gave up real value in the trades to get real value. It is very possible we win the deals in 2019 and 2020 and lose them long term.
