That was awesome radio, thanks for sharing!
Drew Butera designated for assignment by the Rockies
Cody Ache to the Red Sox
JP Crawford getting back to what he does well: 321/425/464. 19 BBs, 3 HR, 3 SB. Beckham is playing well for Seattle so Crawford is not needed at the major league level now, but Beckham is also a below average SS so it is probably a matter of time before JP gets another shot.
Ambidextrous phormer Phillies pharmhand Pat Venditte DFA'd by the Giants.
That line does, however, come out of the PCL.
Yeah I think the OBP is what jumps out even if the BA's not sustainable.
Travis D'Arnaud to the Dodgers btw. They plan to try him at 1B (where Bellinger is no longer going to play) and LF while Pollock is out.
Tacoma is historically a pitcher's park within a hitter's league though. And it is not as though he has much power that would be helped by smaller parks anyway.
He is repeating of course, so he should do well. But he sure looks like somebody who will be a 280/350/400 major league SS. Not a star, but not bad also.

Phormer Phil Carlos Santana with a .900 OPS in 112 ABs. If he'd done that in Philly, Klentak would've been hailed as a genius!
Fortunately his replacement is at 1.024 (Unless, of course, you view McCutchen as his replacement in which case the news is not as good, but at least he can play LF.)
Maybe Santana just does better in the AL (or Cleveland).
I always like JP Crawford and believe he'll turn in to a league average or maybe slightly above SS.
I still make that trade.
I agree on both counts. Crawford may be one of those guys who just takes his time developing into the player he can be. The Mariners have time, although they are wildly exceeding expectations now. The Phillies who are in win-now mode, do not have that same time.
The Mariners have lost 7 of their last 8 including scores of 15-1, 14-1 and 11-0. I think they are heading back to where their GM intended them to be.
lol I read that as, the Mariners were DFAing some guy named Long to make room for J.P.
me too!!
Crawford promotion timed to get an extra year of service time. He will probably be eligible for Super 2 status in arbitration after next year. Then not a free agent till 2025 if he stays in the majors.
So who is Shed Long anyway?
I hope Crawford can do well. I had hopes he would be a starter in Philadelphia for the long term but now that he is gone, I still would like to see him succeed.
