I think I’m one step closer to a revelation that could totally consume my free time- the FCL games are streamed on YouTube, but with no audio and a home plate vantage point so you don’t know who is pitching/batting unless you are also following game day. Does have pitch/swing metrics though. the twitter video clips show video from a centerfield vantage point like a broadcast- that’s what I really want to find.

They normally have that view, but it stopped working today and they moved everything around on the screen after it broke. It has generally been a well kept secret, but I guess it is out. It is meant mostly for internal viewing and family, so I would say mostly keep it to yourself and others you like and be respectful otherwise the Phillies will absolutely take it away.

The same channel has Threshers home games and now that you know how to search for it, there is a DSL home game channel as well (for both teams).

Not at all, no one just searches FCL Phillies or DSL Phillies on YouTube. I did have someone pass it to me the first time over a year ago, but was able to just search up the rest.

Well, he's not on the 40-man roster, so I don't think we'll see him called up in September.

Not that bad a start In my humble opinion. Very good K performance. Keep in mind Abel is among the very youngest players in AA. He's pitching to guys 3-7 years older than him. I wouldn't expect pure domination this year. Honestly, if he ends the year healthy it's a winning year for him. I don't care about the 4-5 ERA.

I'm not overly disappointed, just was hoping that he'd take another step forward this year. Instead he's pretty much been stagnant. Control and command seem to still be a major issue. Stuff still seems to be great. As you said, he's still young (and missed a year of development with COVID), but in order to be a #2 or even middle rotation starter, he's going to have to improve his command a lot.

Agree, but improved command usually results from physical maturity and repeatable mechanics (which Abel allegedly has). At least we can hope!

I have to remind myself not to nitpick the guy- because really, besides Painter, I really can’t remember another pitching prospect in the system with this kind of stuff at his age…and holding up physically to boot.
