Still hoping the commissioner's office is later than usual on final approvals given possible flurry but OTOH not much of the flurry.
Today is obviously a win for those who don't think the Wild Card is worth giving anything up for (or don't think the division is possible). A loss for those who want nothing less than playoff baseball of some kind this year at any case. I'm firmly in the middle. I think the best chance they had a month ago was if some of these relievers made their way back onto the team and instead things have only gotten worse, with the Arrieta injury on top of it. Between the pen, Jake, Herrera and Cutch you can't throw too much good money (or prospects) after bad. I think they actually did a good job with the marginal/depth improvements. It still comes down to the big bats.
