The guy with the lowest OPS and no power bats #3. I guess I should be thankful it isn't Kingery
I don't know why they love Hoskins at 2 so much but I'm sure they have some reason for doing this. Giving your three highest OBP guys the most ABs is certainly never bad and it's not like Santana looks much better hitting 3-5 right now.
I think Hoskins’ OBP, as well as his willingness to take pitches, is exactly why he’s hitting second. The downside is that his RBI opportunities are limited, as he often has fewer men on base when hitting higher in the order. His splits clearly show he’s more comfortable in the cleanup spot (.302/.438/.560) than in the two-hole (.235/.333/.471).

Eflin is not very good lately.
He made a mistake not coming right after Harper with two outs. As talented as Bryce is, he’s still hitting only .251. Eflin did the wrong thing throwing a 2-0 changeup.

Well Soto is on my fantasy team.
Agreed. But if you're gonna move Cesar out of leadoff why not try Hoskins at 3? And every other guy they've tried at clean-up has obviously been lacking (and they don't want to put that on Franco or Williams) whereas Santana also works at #2 even if his OBP is currently down.
Wieters

Might be a long night for the bullpen.
Didn't the Nationals just have trouble scoring runs in multiple games? I guess they are really happy to get back to playing the Phillies.
