This is where the doubleheaders, even 7 inning doubleheaders, can get us. It's fine to have a 5th starter who can't go deep but you can't have both a 5th and 6th starter who can't. Ideallly they'd be tandemed.
I'm just glad to see Joe using his better relievers in tight early situations, not that Parker is necessarily better than Guerra or McLain overall.
The good news is with seven innings you don't have to try and get two innings of Irvin or Romero unless the game gets out of hand, but you might run out of good relievers for Game 2 if you don't.
Hope Parker can get out of this.
