Serious question why do they air these old shows during a rain delay in a game like this instead of just making McCarthy and Kruk chat and go over highlights (or throw it to the studio guys).

Great game. Wish it would have ended there with a better tag by Marchan. But I can’t complain about the effort. Pretty tough situation for Kerkering, but he almost came through.

Of course it's only cause of the ghost runner that Kerkering 'failed'. The whole point of the ghost runner is to see runs scored. HBP, K, K, walk and a F8 doesn't usually lead to a run.

yeah but the walk was still less than ideal and the HBP still played a part. I do still think extra innings don't count (and they won't against his ERA) and a new catcher didn't help but if Kerkering is the guy that is going to keep them from acquiring a higher-end relief piece he has to exceed expectations not just meet them.

And yeah I am sure it's contractual or just not worth the effort to kill rain delay time though I would think a lot of people turn off the game and never return when it's canned stuff like this.
