It's true Kapler had a lot of issues (as well as some notable early mistakes) but they were more about his lack of experience and the lack of alignment with the entire organization than his strategy or philosophy, which have largely been vindicated (both with his own success and with the fact that Thomson has also not been hidebound. As well as the fact that Girardi was no better than Kapler with similar talent/front office).
