I just cant even with Kimbrel anymore, I tolerated Lidge in 09 because of what he did in 08 but Kimbrel reminds me too much of Wild Thing and he just continues to fail spectacularly in this series

It's just the nature of playoff relief pitching. Lidge was rough in '09 during the season but in the playoffs he was still better than Huston Street and Jonathan Broxton. Just not Mariano. You get 'em until you don't.

Kimbrel is absolutely cooked. He’s now a one pitch pitcher. His knuckle curve hasn’t been a pitch for him the last month. Gets behind in every count and then just puts a fastball down the middle.

Still hard for me to believe that they didn't see anything in Lorenzen, who has tons of relief pitching experience. But we may yet!

Hopefully Kimbrel has tomorrow off. He just can’t pitch in Phoenix for some reason, physical or mental, he needs tomorrow off.

This is going to be a game of attrition if we can get out of the 8th without a deficit.

I'm still not prepared to say I would have rather seen them over any of the guys who pitched just because those guys failed. Other than - as people have said - deciding not to give one of them the second spot after Sanchez. But we might just trailed this game 5-0 from the get go if they'd done that. Would have saved us a lot of late-inning angst though. And the other arms.
