It might not be such a bad thing. Lots of kids learn from their fathers and Jeffrey hasn't been too bad as an owner. Interested, maybe meddled a bit early, but has hired the right people and let them do their job.

So while the Cowboys got stuck with Jerry as a mentor for future generations, there have been other examples where this worked out pretty well as long as you started with a good owner as the patriarch - the Hunts (KC), Rooneys (Pittsburgh), DeBartolo-York (SF) - I wouldn't complain about any of those franchises ownership.

Julian is 30 and there hasn't been any negative news to surface yet and seems to keep a rather low profile about his personal life in general - two encouraging signs.

As a ball hawking safety why does Mukuba need to put on weight? 15 lbs seems ridiculous and likely costs him attributes that he was drafted for.

Montrell Johnson, RB, Florida: Johnson (6-0, 212) rushed for over 2,200 yards in his three seasons and Florida and averaged 5.5 yards per carry. Caught 55 passes at Florida. Missed some time in 2024 with a knee injury. (Greg Auman)

Brandon Johnson, S, Oregon: Johnson (5-9, 179) started eight games for the Ducks in 2024 and 45 tackles, 4 1/2 tackles for loss and an interception. Previously played at Duke. (Ryan Fowler)

Maxen Hook, S, Toledo: Hook (6-0, 201) started 43 games at Toledo and was a three-time All-MAC safety with 7 INTs over his last three seasons. (Toledo)

Lance Dixon, LB, Toledo: Dixon (6-2, 233) had 46 tackles and 6 TFLs in 2024. He previously played at West Virginia and Penn State. (Toledo)

ShunDerrick Powell, RB, Central Arkansas: Powell (5-7, 183) is obviously undersized but rushed for over 1,300 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2024. He also caught 36 passes for another 318 yards and 3 touchdowns. He’s super explosive but small. (Central Arkansas)

Hollin Pierce, OL, Rutgers: The 24-year-old Pierce (6-8, 341) is a massive tackle who started a ton of games on both sides of the line for Rutgers. He has an 88-inch wingspan! (Bobby Deren)

He needs to put on weight because even ball-hawking safeties have to tackle NFL-sized wideouts and RBs. If you’re tiny you have trouble with making those tackles and are more likely to get injured. If you watch his tape the lack of size shows up even in his college games. 185 is a really small safety. Maybe he is the exception who can play there at his weight, but he would be the among the lightest safeties in the NFL. Tyrann Mathiew is the only starter listed in the NFL under 190 lbs, and his weight is heavier than his listing according to reporters. Maybe NFL nutrition and training can put on a few pounds and maintain his quickness.

I saw this amazing assessment from a different coaching staff of one of Shadeur’s interviews

A lot of comments that Shadeur deliverately tanked interviews to get to his desired team and that desired team would be one that would hire his father. It would be totally Machiavellian if the desired team was Cleveland and that Shadeur's antics worked to allow Cleveland to get him with a 3rd-day pick, thus putting a stronger supporting cast around him.

He actually needs to stop players from catching the ball. Are we still saying that DeVonta Smith needs to add weight?

Safeties make more tackles than passes blocked and turnovers. Same concerns followed smith when he came to the NFL - the guy will just have to prove his weight won’t be a problem to make the concerns go away.

Darrell Green was smaller and faster (amongst the fastest) and had a fantastic rookie year, and career (at CB, not S). Now, that is a unique case, but I hope Mukuba does well for us.

For sure I was just kidding around. As long a his father is still alive and active his son would probably just be on the business side, and if he took over the team sooner rather than later for some reason he's probably not changing GMs.
