Howie is now shopping from the bargain bin, we'll see how shrewd he was with these last three signings. Dillon should be fine as the 3rd RB, Bryant is a very good blocking tight end, a better one than Stoll was in his time here, so a good TE 3. Still hoping they can extend Goedert with a reworked contract, rather than trade or cut him, since I don't think Calcaterra is a TE 1. Uche should be fine as a rotational rusher. Maybe BG comes back for one more go 'round, but we should get official word on his decision soon.

Eagles are signing veteran CB Adoree’ Jackson to an undisclosed contract on Thursday.

Jackson used to be a pretty good punt returner and has returned kicks, but I'm not sure he's done much of that lately...he's a smallish (5'10"), tough corner. He seems to be playing more slot these days than outside, which is where he started. He's coming off of a $13M AAV contract; don't know how we can pay him. Has a pick-6 vas Hurts.

I would guess he is getting a 1-year show me contract with lots of incentives and little cap hit. Or a second year with a large chunk not guaranteed which assures him FA again next year and allows us to push the can 2 or 3 years down the line depending on his designated release date.

EDIT: I just saw that Adoree Jackson played on a 1.7M one year contract last year so the above is moot. Chuck, you're giving me bad info with the $13M AAV to base my reply to!

That’s what the rumors are indicating, saying, they are open to move him and huff. I don’t understand why they would trade Goettard for a fourth round pick, although as I was typing this question, it occurred to me that perhaps they don’t plan on getting compensation picks next off-season so maybe they are trying to get rid of him now while they can get something for him. I’m not sure that either of the TiEs that they signed this week are known for their past catching.

Granson is 6'1 240, he was a college FB who moved to TE his senior year.

Eagles used a FB last year, VanSumeren is back, but I think they want more depth, Granson can be that FB/H-back you can move around before the snap, set up mismatches in the passing game or give Barkley and Shiple a lead blocker who can also be solid in blitz pickup.

Don't think he is there to replace Goedert.

Becton signs with the Chargers. It's a two year deal, haven't seen the per year amount yet, not sure if it factors into comp pick territory.

I can't imagine doing better than this. At TE, I'm planning on Goedert leaving, Arroyo starting, and hiding Briningstool in the weight room/IR. I would have liked a corner or wide receiver late, but the pickings were slim. Traded down twice. Can't believe Arroyo was still on the board at 96.

Its funny how slow the NFL contract details trickle out, I feel like if its a big contract the agents are advertising the money and if its small nobody is motivated to release the details. Got to assume Becton will be higher than Rodgers, if its not the Eagles should have brought him back.

Update: Becton's two-year deal is worth $20 million, which should qualify him for a fifth-round comp pick.

I thought 2 years, $20M was right on the edge of what the Eagle might be able to afford. They may have believed internally that the roughly $8M delta between him and Steen (if Steen is the "next" guy) is not worth the difference in production.

As howie maneuvers this off-season to maximize compensation picks, I noticed the Steelers are getting a fourth round pick for Justin Fields. They gave up a sixth round pick for him. Goes to show the difference between smart and terrible front offices.

Eagles have a bit of cap space, maybe 20 million, and I suspect that money is going to go to restructured contracts as they lock up the next guys in line during the 2025 season. Although there were reports that they were in the running for the safety that signed with New Orleans.
