Did anyone else see the in game interview with BG?

It really stands out. He didn’t mention anything about what he wants to accomplish individually. Not one word. He talked about the team. He really talked about turning things over to the young guys and showing them how to do things right. He talked about the DL succeeding. How much he like Fangio and how much better this year is.

I can’t think of EVER seeing a player who so clearly cared nothing about what he does. Dude is just special. Someone could argue on talent (left) and production maybe he isn’t worth a roster spot as I am sure he will only maybe play the FG block ST and no others, but having this guy around the team easily makes him worth his spot.

They could make him a coach sooner rather than later. If the quality is there, saved a roster spot.

I think that was mostly in jest. Surely those conditions apply only to him playing for the Jets. If they release or trade him he he has taken zero snaps for them and it's a third. And even if the terms did apply to the Jets in a trade - which seems unlikely - presumably that would be addressed if it was the Eagles making it.

I guess I really don't know, if he goes to the Browns, for instance, is the Jets' pick actually at the mercy of his playing time there? Or does a trade negate it entirely? Since that compensation is meant to be based on how much he actually helped the Jets and how much it worked out for them. If they're forced to trade him again it certainly didn't work out.

Dotson and a 5th for a 3rd and 2 7ths. Essentially a little less than Dotson for a 4th or very late 3rd.

Absolute steal.

The fact that we are going to use him as a 3rd WR, even 4th at times, he will probably face backup / nickel corners and maybe even a safety at times. He should be very dangerous.

Dotson has been mostly a disappointment in DC. Just did not have the speed to separate and the strength to be a really good slot receiver. Great hands and adjustments to the ball, but just did not get open enough. Olamide Zacchaeus beat him out and he is not that great.

They also just drafted Christian McCaffery's little brother Luke and this will put him in the rotation as at least the 4th receiver who probably makes a better slot target than Dotson.

They have added Becton and White this offseason, also former first round picks. Former first rounders might be a Howie fetish (it's already confirmed Zach Berman loves these former high picks...).

It's rational. You're obtaining players who showed enough in college to be high draft picks, at a huge discount.
So they don't have to live up to their draft slot to make it a good deal, but the upside may be there.

The price of disappointing first round picks who are still productive players like Dotson is reasonable. Downside is that he has probably shown he should have been more of a 2nd or 3rd round talent so he is paid a bit more than those picks while he has used up the first 2 years of control. Like baseball the years of control are a factor in the price going down, especially when you are adding a decent but not great player. He is a decent 3rd receiver. Just not sure he is ever going to be better than that, so once he hits free agency he'll likely be expensive for that type of role.

This is mostly about injury protection and Roseman's bad WR drafting.

Outside of Brown & Smith, they have no WR that scared anyone except their own OC. That had to change in case Brown or Smith go down which could very well happen at any time.

The reality that, outside of Smith, Roseman has been horrible in drafting WR and loves to shop at the bargain bin for depth at the position makes this move understandable. The fact he kept Watkins last year and thought Campbell or rookies Wilson or ASmith would be passable WR3 is mindboggling.

Dotson is not a very good WR at this level, but he is young, cheap and is better than anything else we had. That WSH did not want to keep him is a red flag. Hopefully, he pans out, but really this is mostly insurance that Roseman hopes he'll never have to use.

There are only so many picks. He's prioritized OL and DL over the years, blew it with Reagor but a HR with Smith in the 1st rd.

Watkins, Wilson, Smith - late round WRs tend to be depth picks.

This draft is good example, Mitchell, DeJean, Hunt, Trotter (and traded a 3rd from this draft last year to move up for Ringo), emphasized defense (including signing CGJG) for obvious reasons after last season.

I don’t really expect to see many players that have big futures. Hopefully McKee plays most of the game, playing Grier is wasting opportunity. Dejean should get his first opportunity to play, hopefully about a half.
