Eagles 2024-2025 Season

The Eagles were very unsuccessful passing against the Ravens, who had the 30th ranked passing defense against the rest of the league. The Ravens were getting gashed by lousy QBs, and we were not able to consistently find open receivers despite having a dominating running attack that the Ravens were packing the box to stop. I know we are winning games, but I am completely at a loss to explain why we can't get receivers open and pass the ball. I'm just as confused by why we stink on offense in the first quarter of games. Thank goodness for Fangio's defense.

Despite some throw aways and a drop by Covey (who is still on the team for some reason), Hurts was pretty crisp with his passes. They were also down a top WR.

Lamar looked much worse than Hurts with some very open receivers.

The Ravens did not play their best. Their kicker should not have missed two field goals and a PAT, and Lamar missed a few easy passes. The Ravens would have won if it wasn't for those situations. I remember last season when the Eagles beat the Chiefs and the Bills. Everybody was saying how great the Eagles were, but the Bills and the Chiefs gave the Eagles those games due to their mistakes. While I'm thrilled and excited to see that the defense played pretty well against the Ravens, I think the Eagles might struggle if they go against a team that is executing well.

I don't want to discount the Ravens leaving points on the board, but I'm not ready to say that the Eagles lose if the Ravens make those kicks because I think the fourth quarter is played differently if the eagles don't receive that gift. The Eagles last drive they settled for a FG because that is all they needed, the play calling is more aggressive if they aren't just trying to run out the clock. Plus the Ravens don't score a quick TD if the Eagles aren't in prevent defense (which always seems to give up a quick score, interesting).

I am impressed with how well the defense plays as a unit the last six or so games. Fangio has done a great job and the players are all on the same page. CB depth is still killing us, even after the great 2024 draft they might need to draft a replacement for Slay.

I agree that had the kicker made all 7 points, the Eagles might have still won. However, Lamar's missed throws were surprising, and if he had made those, maybe the game would have been closer.

The Eagles were also penalized twice as much despite Jalen Carter being held all day. And Goedert was clearly held in the end zone which did not get a flag.

It was a good win against a tough team on the road. Maybe not a flashy win, but a good one.

If this offense is fully loaded/healthy they can beat anybody, and if not they might still be able to hold the Chiefs or Lions to fewer points than the 2022 team.

Steelers game would be interesting. Need win that and for the Packers to beat the Lions

I actually think the biggest threat to the Lions is Minnesota, they have the players to beat the Lions. Problem is if they take the division lead we still need someone to beat them at least once as I think they will hold the tie breaker on the Eagles.

It is going to be fun month +

In a better reality the Eagles epic collapse last year was just a little less extreme and we would be wrapping up our 3rd straight division title.

I think the Eagles might actually have a tiebreaker over the Vikings. The Inquirer didn't even consider the Vikings and said what the Eagles need is for the Lions to take a conference loss to Green Bay, but that's obviously not their only NFC game.

This reddit thread says Eagles and Vikings would be deadlocked for conference record and common opponents but we take it on strength of victory. obviously everything can still change.

I forgot that only the top seed gets a playoff bye, too bad Arizona didn’t take care of business yesterday - Gannon continues to haunt the eagles

Eagles need to start showing film and get some of those called.

Have to imagine the path to the 1 seed is unrealistic at this point. Better to solidify second seed and prioritise health

The only way to solidify the second seed is to continue to win. The only way to get the number one seed is to win, and hope the Lions lose a few games. The Eagle's strategy would be the same regardless.

Well, that's true today, but it won't be in the coming weeks. Of course they're going to try to win that next three games. After that it may not matter. I believe the Vikings could still beat them out for #1 to boot.

The lions have the bills 49ers and Vikings still on the schedule. Eagles need lions to lose one Vikings to lose one and to win out and I believe they are the number one seed.

I don't think one Lions loss would be enough. At this point they have all the tiebreaker as far as I'm aware.

I read that the Eagles would have the tiebreaker over the Lions if the Vikings beat the lions, but the Vikings need to lose another game because the Vikings have the tiebreaker over the Eagles in that scenario. Not sure if my source is accurate, but that’s what I read.

Fortunately, they are playing for a division title, and the Eagles should finish in front of one of them no matter what.

Right, if the Vikings beat the Lions but don't take another loss they are the #1 seed and win their division.

I don't think the 49ers are much of a threat to the Lions (but you never know). And a Bills loss still wouldn't give Eagles the tiebreaker (which is conference opponents).

By the same token if the Eagles have to lose one more game it should be to Pittsburgh not an NFC team. But that would still open up a bigger gulf.

The new format really still is a bummer. Right now Lions would have bye and Eagles face Commanders 2/7. But Detroit could also still got knocked out by Minnesota or Green Bay in the playoffs and then Eagles would have home field.

I think the Eagles Steelers game will decide the seeding.
