Who would have guessed that Nolan Smith can’t cover Jamarr Chase. If he isn’t rushing he shouldn’t be on the field, the reason should be clear.

Rogers can play I think. Might get beat deep occasionally, but he sticks to his guy in man coverage and has more than passable ball skills.

As it was with Haasan Reddick. Just give up on dropping our DEs into coverage. They will do more to stop a completion by rushing the passer.

Cincy is not a good team, but they aren't like the Titans. The Eagles are starting to look very solid. I suspected learning the offensive and defensive schemes would take a while. I feared it would take all season, but I am happy it only took seven games.

Between last year's Eagles season and this year's Phillies season there is something to be said for starting slow. Plus they had to ride out some of that with the two WRs missing. Keep at it and TNF against Commanders in Philly looms large.

I know both teams are having trouble, but I guess I have to root for SF tonight against Dallas. It seems wrong after (most of) 2 seasons where SF was the biggest threat to the Eagles, but rooting for Dallas is just wrong.

Yes, Dallas and SF are both further back now, but they are still loaded teams.

Grudgingly conceding to @phillychuck that Smith is getting better lately. Still likely not going to be what you hope for in a first rounder, but could become a solid guy at some point. And it's not his fault that he was drafted in the first round.

Who would have known that you need to have a little patience with a defensive lineman?

Maybe there's hope for Bryce Huff. At his current rate of improvement he could turn into a good player sometime in 2032.

Speaking of Bryce Huff, I just read on the Athletic that Bryce Huff leads the league in pressure rate. Do the people who record these stats actually watch games or am I going crazy?

What qualifies as a pressure? Getting 5 yards away from the QB with a lineman in between you?
