That's clearly not enough to make a serious statement by the NFL to not do that again. The officials also have culpability here and it would be nice to know what was done about that.

Watch the game film of Smith. He's been complimented by Baldinger, Cosell, and Duffy for setting the edge well against the run. The all-22 shows it, too. He's not getting pressure, but he's been better than NFL average against the run.

Maybe you are catching a one off comment on a specific play. I just listened to a 51 minute podcast with Cosell this morning on the drive to work and his only comment toward Smith was when he was discussing the unsustainable usage of Brandon Graham. He said the Eagles certainly didn't plan for Graham to play 35 snaps a game but they are forced to unless Smith or Huff start playing better.

Hardly an endorsement.

WR A.J. Brown and LB Devin White were downgraded to out.
WR Parris Campbell and WR John Ross were temporarily elevated from the practice squad.

White is a weird case, sounds like he’s a healthy scratch again, i thought he was going to have a great year when they signed him.

Yea, Baun really stole his playing time. He has been very impressive. Dean is still a work in progress, but has mostly been good.

White will be needed. Something will happen.

Our bigger problem is WR now, at least for 1 week (although I am worried Smith may be out for an extended period). They are really going to have to be creative, because the guys we are sending out as WR are all marginal whether they even belong in the NFL (and one of them was at home watching games last week)

The reports are that he is ruled out this week for personal reasons - not injury. Speculation is that he is unhappy that he isn’t starting.

I went down the rabbit hole and watched reporters ask him questions at his locker from week 2. A) he spoke about having a high ankle tweak B) he said all the right things about being a team player and being here C) most of the reporters asked weighted questions trying to bait him into creating a controversy and to whites credit he didn’t take the bait.

The combination of no pass rush and a secondary that can’t cover anyone…. 14-0 as fast as TB could score.

The only incompletion in the first 2 drives was an obvious messed up attempted screen. Other than that the Eagles secondary is 3 steps behind and as always the pash rush is non-existent.

I think Huff may have made a tackle on a run. He was laying on the ground after the play (as usual), but it was next to the ball carrier this time.

The Eagles offense can probably only run the ball today, so they refuse to do so on 1st down. 2 second down runs so far.

Tampa Bay had 197 yards of offense in the first quarter. Eagles had 0. Hard to look any worse than the Eagles have so far this game.

Cannot blame the injured receivers on this first quarter, i thought the defense found itself last week but it’s gone. Btw - McNabb did a lot more with a lot less. Go Phillies.

The Eagles DBs play incredibly loose. What use is it to prevent the bomb with 2 high, if virtually every pass is a completion and every run a 5-yard game. It seems the Eagles players and coaches decided they had no chance to win this game.
