As someone who has both modded many forums/discords/message boards over the years, and as someone who is pretty unbiased here (IOW not a mod and dont even follow the Eagles/NFL that closely) I dont see these as personal attacks. I understand you feel they are. And it sucks whenever you get the feeling of being attacked/ganged up on, but if this was on a forum or discord I modded, I wouldnt consider this something I needed to step in on. And Im pretty strict at quickly trying to end drama when I run something like this.

I think that step back would be good for all involved here. You arent going to change anyones mind to how you feel and they arent going to change your mind. And since emotions have gotten riled up, IMO, its probably best to let the subject of that topic die and move on.

You were asserting an opinion as if it were unassailable fact. You were dismissing contrary opinions out of hand. You did not have a monopoly on the evidence.

That would have been fine by me, if you'd done that, stated your position, and moved on. But you persisted, to the point that others got tired and irritated. You appeared not to care about that. The result was posts that you decided to flag.

Then the topic lay dormant. It was three days from the time you first flagged a post until I saw that flag - and I publicly thanked people for having the good sense to let it die. It was five more days until you reacted to my comment on the subject... and then you chose to re-open a pointless argument that it was crystal clear others were not going to be persuaded to your position. The result was predictable; people got irritated, and more imprudent things were said.

As bkox suggested, a step back on this subject is warranted, for all involved. As far as I'm concerned, this argument should be over. No winners; no losers.

Also... Don't flag posts just to get our attention. In what world does a post like this:

What bad coaching prevented Randall from becoming, good coaching may help Hurts to become. Coaching matters; it's not everything (no one is arguing that, of course), but it's not insignificant, either.

I put a like to PC’s post without realizing the flagging and skipping over the arguments. I liked it because I have long regretted not seeing how Randall would have progressed with a good offensive minded coach. He was a personal favorite of mine and Buddy Ryan’s disdain for the offer really hurt him.

I remember reading a rich kotite quote where he said something like he wasn’t going to change his offense for a player and that Cunningham had to adapt his own game to the offense or he wouldn’t play. That played out well.

Probably not. Just did not start enough to accumulate the counting stats. It is hard to say he revolutionized the position too. He cleared a path for more like him to be taken seriously, but there were others on that path too at various times before him (Tarkenton) and at the same time as him (Young).

If he had the Super Bowl that Young has he'd have a better shot. Young is just like 10%-15% better than him in all the cumulative passing stats and comes close on running (with the Super Bowl thrown in for good measure).

Actually, Cunningham was coming around with a good QB coach, who literally died on him.

Problem was he played on bad offenses, with below average OLs, and basically only a couple legitimate targets, though by 1990 this had improved with Byars (FB), Barnett, Williams and Keith Jackson (TE).
But the OL was Heller - Schad - Alexander - Solt - Singletary.

Was watching some games from last year and every time I see the "Tush Push" I have the same thought. That is a Rugby play.

I can't help but wonder if at some practice when they were doing "and 1" plays that Mailata said "I know how we can get 1 yard every freaking time". I wonder if anyone has ever thought to ask if he was involved in it. I can't help but notice that Hurts always runs that play to his side (it is kinda natural to go that way for a right handed anyway), but wouldn't you run behind the 6'9", 360+lb guy too?

I got to watch the practice today through a friend who works for the team. Very fun, but hard to follow a lot of it because so many things are happening at once.

I'm going to post my personal favorite 53, it will not be anywhere close to what the Eagles actually do since I heavily lean toward unproven young players over average vets.

OL -- Mailata, Dickerson, Kelce, Jurgens, Johnson, Steen, Sills, Driscoll (8)

DL -- Redick, Graham, Sweat, Smith, Williams, Carter, Cox, Davis, Tuipolotu, Ojomo (10)
LB -- Dean, Elliss, Jack, Cunningham, Morrow, P.Johnson (IR) (6)
CB -- Slay, Bradberry, Maddox, Jobe, Ringo, Goodrich (6)
S -- Blankenship, Brown, Wallace, Garner (CB/S) (4)

K/P/LS -- Elliot, Siposs, Lovato

Hoping to replace Siposs from elsewhere, want to keep Ricks, too. Maybe they try to slip Goodrich through to the PS. Edmonds probably makes it instead of Garner. Not keeping Greedy Williams, McPhearson, Barnett, or Josiah Scott. I could let Morrow or Cunningham or Myles Jack go based on the rest of camp. I might fool around at QB and keep only 2 (McKee would be one of the 2 at this point). I would love to find a spot for Trey Sermon, but he would probably make it through to the PS if they waived him.

not a bad list PC. I can see one more O Lineman. Kelly maybe. I don't think tyreese Robinson makes it to the PC. he is a brute with very good speed. he will be on someone's 53. I think they will only keep one of the veteran LB's. And, I will hate to see Sermon go. he is one that will be picked up and end up like that 6th rounder (running back) from the chiefs who played very well last year.

sorry, cut off too early. This is a luxury to have, this roster. many good players and tough to cut some of these.

I wonder if anyone will have trade value before final cuts, eagles certainly seem to have more than 53 that could make an NFL roster

It's a tough time to trade people; all the teams think they have too many good players right now, and 53-man roster spots are at a premium. Most trades are "probably won't make it" guys for other "probably won't make it" guys.

Trades normally happen at this time of year when a major player gets hurt. The Eagles fleeced the Vikings who's QB got hurt in preseason and sent them Sam Bradford for a 1st rounder and a 4th rounder (which turned into Barnett and Sweat).

The new rules provide for three QBs to be active on game day, so I imagine they will keep three. Not sure how this change affects roster number.
